IMHO that would block waaay too much air. What I used for a makeshift filter was that wallpaper tape stuff that you would slap on your wall (sheetrock) which is before you put the mud on. You know the white nylon 'tape' with a bunch of holes in it. Just overlap two, and your set

Are you sick of poor quality 128k mp3's that sound inferior to regular CD's you buy in the store? Do you long for the exact sound of a CD with absolutly no quality loss, and at practically half the size of a normal CD? CD's get scratched all the time, and FLAC is great for archiving all those good copies of your classic rock, and backing them up to save forever. FLAC unlike mp3, or ogg vorbis is what is called a lossless format. This means that no quality whatsoever is lost from the origianl disk. Lossy formats such as ogg vorbis, wmv, and moreover mp3 are usually flat sounding, and full of hissing and dullness because they discard and literally throw out important information that controls how good the CD will sound. Using FLAC will ensure the crystal-clear clarity that you can expect from a freshly opened CD. Instead of flimsy CD cases that snap and CD's that scratch easily, and are inevitably summoned to a poor scratched up death; FLAC files can be stored in a tough metal box known as your Hard Disk. FLAC putting life back into digital audio. If you own legit copies of CD's and seek for them pre-FLAC'd for all your digital listening needs please shoot me a PM for more information.

You can always buy sweet filters from Xoxide, Directron, etc. If your hardcore, you could cut a strainer, or use a 'modded white sockz0r :thumb: . Good luck :)

Hardware stores and home centers sell "cut-to-size" furnace filters for a few bucks that can make several case fan filters. These are also of a material that is designed to allow air to pass through reletively unobsructed.

You use those? They would block less air than a normal fan filter (at least the one on my uber 1337 sterio)

Kane, you are brilliant. I have used many things over the past 4 years, but I don't think anything I've used would work as good as panty hose. The speaker fabric is good idea to, but some of it varies and so I personally would opt for the more consistant panty hose.

    Very clever.

I've been using pantyhose for some time now.
Just cut out a 4x4 piece and hold in place with a rubber band.

costs me nothing, and definitely filters out a bunch of dirt. 1 old set of hose will provide you with filters for a good long time.

Just changed out my filter day before yesterday, you should have seen the muck stuck to that rascal. That's not to say that inside the case was sparkly clean - but I can imagine what it would look like without it:eek:

Just hit up some gal for her old undergarment, I'm sure she'll be flattered.

Of course, if you are picky about color or something, you can buy some yourself, but I'm much too stingy/shy to do something like that.
