Exclamation Config for a private cloud implementation

    Hi,
I am building a PC/server to support my private cloud implementation as a part of my research project and personal use later on. I was earlier looking for refurbished servers up to $800 but all i could find were like 2006-08 models which seemed a bit too old for running a private cloud infrastructure.
What if i spend about $1000 for a new computer it self?
Will it be good enough to run a private cloud or am i missing out on something if i don't get a server?
What kinda config do you suggest for this?

    Thanks

Would a NAS work for your needs? Most vendors have cloud features these days.
