    Yes i was wondering wtf directdraw and show do ......and if i need to update them......i tried to update them at microsoft and could not find the dnwld....so if someone can please tell me what they do and if its important to update...and how?! DirectDraw Version : 5.3.0000000.900

    DirectDraw is the method of interfacing video data from the CPU to the video adaptor.

    DirectShow is a Filter/API for displaying multimedia.

    Both those definitions are in their utmost simplest form, much more detailed explanations can be found by searching the net.

    Both of those items, Direct Show & DirectDraw are a part of DirectX.
    With those version numbers you supplied, it is clear that you currently have DirectX version 8.0 installed.

    DirectX 9.0b is the latest version I believe, available for download from microsoft right here .

    Updating DirectX will effectively update DirectDraw, Direct Show and all the other goodies included to their most recent versions.
    The reason a diamond shines so brightly is because it has many facets which reflect light.

    hey i know this is off topic but....is it better to use a network card or onboard ethernet......cuase to me it seems when i switched to onboard that it lagged my comp while dnwlding...........thats just what it seemed....does anyone know which is better?~ :cry:

    since you're already got both installed, the PCI card is probably better ...but the onboard NIC shouldn't lag your comp
    I've gone too far and need to move on!
