I just went through the tweaking guide for XP on this site. At one point they wanted me to make sure the graphics card and sound card were on different IRQ's. Mine weren't but they didn't add any solutions if they were on the same IRQ.

So what do I do and is this really necessarily bad? I haven't had a problem with the Gfx card but sometimes my sound card erupts into static, don't know if it' related or not.

They are both on IRQ 11 right now.

The usual way is to unistall the sound card in the device manager the just shut down the PC and move the sound card to another PCI slot then restart ya PC. Windows will redetect the soundcard on a different slot (so long as the one ya picked didn't share the same IRQ but your motherboard manual will help with that) and reassign it to another away from the video card. ;)
