    ForceWare Driver
    Beta release

Download ForceWare 53.03 Driver for Windows 2000/XP

    Driver notes

These drivers correct a number of problems found in the 52.16 release of the display drivers for Windows XP and Windows 2000. These drivers are not WHQL certified and you may see a warning message from Windows to that effect. Despite this, these drivers are safe to install and use.

    Updates to this driver

    Improved support for HDTV Modes

Corrected the following issues from 52.16

Clone mode may be set for the GeForce FX 5600 although only one display is connected.
GeForce FX 5950 Ultra: When 4x FSAA is enabled, half of the screen is black in Tiger Woods 2004 introductory video.
GeForce4 MX 440 and GeForce4 Ti 4400, Windows XP: Blue-screen crash during Battlefield 1942 Desert Combat.
GeForce FX 5950 Ultra: Homeworld2 antialiased performance is slow.
GeForce FX 5950 Ultra and GeForce4 Ti 4400, Windows XP: Rendering corruption in Battlefield 1942 Desert Combat.
GeForce FX 5950 Ultra, Windows XP: “X2: The Threat” benchmark is choppy or jerky in some places.
All GeForce FX: Intermittently, Warcraft III videos are not displayed properly on some systems.

    ForceWare Driver
These drivers are to be considered BETA so use them with care.

There's a new ForceWare driver on the loose. We've (Guru3d) gotten hold of it through the French Station Drivers and they got them from Leadtek. The .inf file has been modified to support all NVIDIA graphics cards. This is build 53.06 for Windows 2000/XP. There's no word on performance or stability just yet. I suggest you monitor our forums for that. The drivers have been recompressed and now weigh a little less than 10 MB, we left international files available as most of you seem to prefer that.

    Guru3d has 324 ForceWare files, from 21.81 through 53.06.
Definitely your one stop source for Nvidia Drivers.

*Don't mean to hijack your thread WETA, just wanted to post them as they have been available since Jan. 23, 04*

    Nvidia's Detonator 55 is Forceware 2.0
Up to 20 per cent performance boost

Nvidia wants to surprise us one more time but it's always nice to know about things before they happen, so you can pretend you didn't know.
The firm is planning to release new drivers with 55 marks in the name and the driver will be called ForceWare 2.0.

This driver should get you "up to" 20 per cent of performance increase and free auto-overclocking it seems.

This sounds awfully like Nvidia is following the steps of ATI's Overdrive where the card overclocks itself when the core is cold enough to take the burden of higher clock. We guess Nvidia learned that the ATI approach was not bad after all and it finally seems that you won't need to install coolbit.reg to overclock.

The driver will come with custom game profiles and you will have context sensitive help menus.

TV out and HDTV users will benefit from the new advance control panels and I guess that it will give you more freedom for settings than before.

As for the release date, we don't have an earthly right now, but it will be sooner rather than later.

dryadsoul: I don't post manufacturer sourced drivers (in this case Leadtek) anymore because of past problems.
