Anyone know of an excellent Unreal Tournament server in the US? It's hard to find good servers using UT. Is there a freeware utility that pings UT servers? I know Gamespy has one but there's a fee.

    www.gamespyarcade.com

Gamespy Arcade should have what you are looking for, and it also has a real-time chat feature that allows you to enter a lobby type area for the game you're interested in and has chat capabilities with those there. It also has a list of the servers that are set throughtheir master server list, the IP address and game informationof the server, and the ping.

Unless it has changed, you can download and use the program for free and only register it if you want to ($20 lifetime membership).

Hope this helps you out. I used to use it a lot when I was heavy into gaming, but haven't for a while.
