Hmmm...am currently d-loading RTCW from Gentoo but I do have a few questions. As I understand it the game itself boots the system, therefore I'll be running without either my firewall or virus scanner. Am I opening up my system to viruses/hackers if I let this thing go online? Does this game also have a single player (offline) option?

since it runs completely off the CD, not haveing a firewall or AV makes little difference I would think (although it could easily have one, it's running Linux underneath the game). It also makes it impossible to save your settings, which I also assume wouls make it impossible to play SP games (unless you start from the beginning every time).

There might be an option to write data to the HDD, but I don't think there is. Earlier I just booted into it long enough to make sure it worked good. I didn't take time to check out the advanced options.
I've gone too far and need to move on!

Thanks for the info ... not much for online RPGs anymore so I guess I'll skip the download. You just saved the life of a 50 cent CDR. :)

How can you see the files that allows the cd to boot the computer??
I have burned this iso with nero with the burn image option, i have closed the session, was this wrong??
When i check the image information is says that is a "joliet (bootable)" type.
also i use "track at once" tu burn not "disc at once", can this be a problem??

I dunno what happened but my friend burned it and it worked, i made a iso copy and now AA works!
Weird because we compared both cd's, same files and exact same size!
maybe nero needs to be updated, or they were damage in download... but keept the same size!
