    <center>Valve's Top 10 Secret Files
    Half-Life 2 isn't the only thing hackers uncovered...
    </center>

    In what is possibly the biggest news story of the gaming year, hackers broke into Valve Software's Network and stole the source code to Half-Life 2.

    While much has been made about the leak and its ramifications and consequences, few people have commented on the OTHER incredible stuff that was found on Valve's network. And it's up to a serious, responsible journalist like myself -- with a history in this humor column of deep investigative journalism -- to get to the bottom of this and bring this information to the public. So, forget what you've heard about the stolen Half-Life 2 source code. Take a look at THESE.

    Nice to know that we can still have a laugh at things :).

    By the way, I've posted an editorial on TweakTown Gamer about the whole situation.

    Ultimately, I don't think Half-Life 2 sales will be horribly affected by this event - it might just alter the release date.

    <center>ATi set to make a Half-Life 2 announcement tomorrow
    A Counterstrike to Nvidia's NV36/NV38 noise
    </center>

    AN OFFICIAL from ATi Technologies has exclusively advised the INQUIRER that the company is confident of being in a position to finally make an announcement regarding Half-Life 2 tomorrow (Friday 24th October).
    We anticipate this will be in relation to the bundling promises ATi has made to its trade and end-user customers, who have already committed to Radeon 9600XT and 9800XT product purchases. These guys will be sitting staring at their HL2 vouchers, wondering what they're worth, we suggest.

    Hopefully ATiís statement will include an actual date they will start shipping Half-Life 2, and frankly, it's about time the company put its customers concerns to rest, especially since Valve hasn't yet felt able to do so.

    <center>ATI/Valve statement on Half Life 2
    Fresh from the source
    </center>

    I understand that many of you are anxious to get an update on the status of Half-Life 2 and our products that include the Half-Life 2 offer. Valve is working diligently to assess the situation and we will update you on the game's delivery schedule as soon as we can. For additional information on the status of the release, please contact Valve. However, in the interim, ATI and Valve have arranged for our customers who qualify for the Half-Life 2 offer to receive an added bonus. Please see the information below.

    We understand that our customers are anxious to start playing Half-Life 2. For our customers who purchase RADEON products that come bundled with Half-Life 2 and activate their Half-Life 2 Product Key via STEAM before Half-Life 2 is available at retail, Valve and ATI are offering the Valve Premier Pack free, which includes the games: Half-Life, Counter Strike, Team Fortress Classic, Deathmatch Classic, Half-Life: Opposing Force and Ricochet. This is a limited time bonus offer that expires once Half-Life 2 is available.

    Customers can use the activation key from their Half-Life 2 coupon to download the Valve Premier Pack from Steam, Valve's online delivery mechanism, free of charge, or can order a Steam Installation CD from ATI. Half-Life 2 will be available via Steam the same day it is available at retail. Use of the Valve Premier Pack requires an internet connection and is subject to acceptance of the Steam Subscriber Agreement. For more information please visit www.ati.com/online/hl2.

    Exclusive: Half-Life 2 screenshot assault!
    Two new screenshots and concept art entitled "The Depot"

    Incredible in-game image alert! Gawp at Valve Software's hot property of 2004, exposed inside

    12:07 September 30, 2003 - a date tattooed onto the eyeballs of every self-respecting PC gamer the world over. Holiday time was booked. Wives lent to sad loner neighbours for a week to get them out of the way. Children sold into slavery.
    With 30 notes clutched in clammy hands, the masses waited for the release of Half-Life 2. Then some **** hacked into Valve's server and stole the Source code, and we've been waiting impatiently ever since, wondering when we'll see this titan of a shooter finally hit the shelves. Some miscreants even lowered themselves to downloading the stolen code for a peek at what's in store...

    At the time of writing, we're still no more clued up about exactly when the game will appear. Valve is being very cagey on this subject, though the developer was kind enough to send us these three stunning exclusive shots for you to feast your eyes on. Nice, aren't they?

    Surely though it can't be long. When we first saw the game back in March 2003 it was looking all but finished, which makes us think that the delay has more to do with the code theft than any major problems with the game itself. Concern over the security of multiplayer servers seems to be the reigning theory at present.

    Thankfully, the code that was leaked onto the Net appears to have been partial at best, reports at the time suggesting it bears very little resemblance to the scintillating action we've seen at official showings. Someone may have stolen the game's engine, but they certainly haven't stolen its gameplay, nor, hopefully, its thunder.

    The release date may be shrouded in mystery, but despite the delay and confusion, Half-Life 2 is still looking like being the most ground-breaking first-person shooter in years. It's coming, that you can be sure of, so keep that holiday time on standby and those pesky kids under lock and key for just a little while longer. This is one gaming experience you won't want interrupted.

    There's no difference between US, European Half Life 2 coupons
    There's only one type... oh

    People eagerly waiting to redeem their Half Life 2 coupons as part of an ATI bundling deal at least can be re-assured that North Americans and Europeans are in the same boat.
    ATI told us that whether customers come from Europe or North America, the vouchers will redeeem a full copy of the game, the multiplayer and single player one.

    The firm told us it will make an effort to educate its partners to make sure all understand that ATI bundles multiplayer Half Life 2 as well.

    There are only 16 days left in 2003. Will Half Life 2 ship before then? On this, the whole world+dog appears to be silent.
