Rockstar confirms next GTA for Q4 2004
No word on title or features, mind.

Take-Two has confirmed that the next GTA game will be released in Q4 2004. According to reports, Take-Two Executive
Vice President Cindi Buckwalter told attendees at a New York City technology conference that the game will be released "in the back half of '04, Q4," although she wouldn't be drawn on the name - despite widespread internet rumours of a Las Vegas or Los Angeles-based title.

Beyond the release date though, little is known about the game. Take-Two CFO Karl Winters said, "I want to be prudent about our comments. We're very excited about the brand," adding "We had a lot of questions about how we could possibly create something that could compete with Grand Theft Auto 3. None of us who were sitting here a year ago would have suggested we would have the type of success we had with Vice City."

Elsewhere, the publisher aims to consolidate sales of both GTA3 and Vice City by relaunching its two most successful titles as a Double Pack - and introducing them to the Xbox format, which should happen sometime next month. It will be interesting to see how they're received by an Xbox press generally hostile to overdue PS2 ports.

That's right: DMA Design, now RockStar North is situated in Leith, a district in Edinburgh, Scotland. DMA was purchased by Take 2 Interactive in 1999 and is still involved in the creation of the much loved Grand Theft Auto Series.

Have you heard about the new interactive digitaltv channel called irace aslo developed in scotland. This is using 17 of the shelf dell computers hooked up to provide live races 24/7. You can bet on the races and also buy horses, train them and sell them - using real money of course. The channel will be activated soon in the uk and will spread if it become succesful. The reason the company are using of the shelf computers is because when one goes wrong they can go out and buy another one or even "hook up the receptionists" Sounds pretty funky! Good old scotland ;)
