The advanced bios settings are not working for me, all the options remains the same after I press ctrl + f1. Worth noting is that the screen still "flashes" when I press ctrl + f1 but none of the options change. I've tried updating bios via @BIOS but still doesn't work. What might be the problem?

    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R (rev 2.0)

GPU: 2x Gigabyte GTX 460 OC SLI
    RAM: Corsair 6gb XMS3 1600MHz

The advanced bios settings are not working for me,
Do this on the first page when you go into bios. When you press AND HOLD CTRL and press F1 you should see a flicker then you will see the same list but an extra line which says Advanced Chipset Features Under Advanced Bios Features. I believe I understood this feature is not available on all Gigabyte MBs.
Is this the Ctrl + F1 thing that is being mentioned here? Does this bring up another RAID Feature on those MBs? Just asking for future reference.

Of course I am holding down ctrl while pressing f1 and yes the screen is flickering but (almost) nothing changes. I don't get any extra lines such as Advanced Chipset Features and, for example, the M.I.T menu doesn't match the one from the motherboard manual. The only thing I found so far that changes are some extra lines in Advanced BIOS Features like Boot Up Floppy and Boot Up Num-Lock

I see never mind page 87 of your motherboard manual says press Ctrl + I
After the POST memory test begins and before the operating system boot begins, look for a message which says "Press <Ctrl-I> to enter Configuration Utility" (Figure 2). Press Ctrl + I to enter the ICH10R RAID Configuration Utility.
Sorry I can't tell by the wrighting. ↓Below↓ is a PDF of your MB manual.
    http://download.gigabyte.ru/manual/m...d3r_v2.0_e.pdf
Although the prior post to yours is about RAID, you may not be looking for the RAID utility.
I didn't notice we are in the welcome thread.

There is only VERY FEW settings hidden in your BIOS, most all of them are visible. What setting are you having a hard time finding?

Control + F1 is really not needed in the current motherboards, that hotkey was mostly used to hide things in much older boards.

I think the only things hidden you will find using this on X58 is the ones you mentioned, Wake from USB device, and Enable/disable Spread Spectrum setting

Well, if you compare my bios to the one in the manual there's a few things missing. For example in M.I.T, I don't have UnCore & QPI Features, Advanced Clock Control, Advanced DRAM Features etc.

    Ahh, thanks for clarifying!

930 CPU and X58 correct? If so it sounds like you might be using an older BIOS that does not support your CPU, please update to the latest BIOS if this is the case.

    Here is the latest BIOSes
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...test-bios.html

And here is a Qflash guide, please use this and DO NOT USE @BIOS
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...ash-guide.html

Wait, it could be that or this... They have changed the BIOS layout format since the manuals were made, so the BIOS would look nothing like the manual if you are using a newer BIOS.

    What BIOS are you using?

Uncore and QPI, ect are all in the second section now (Advanced Freq Settings), once you go into the MIT area.

If you have a newer BIOS with a P55 style layout and need me to show you some images of where these things are let me know

Yes a 930 and X58. My current BIOS is FA and yes I do know that they are supposed to be in the Advanced Frequency Settings and in the manual they are too.

Gonna go try Qflash and update my BIOS, will get back with an answer on how it went!

Ahh ok, good luck with the flash.

Be sure you disable Keep DMI Data when flashing, and load optimized once you are done then reboot back to the BIOS and make all other changes you need to make.

Here's a guide just in case

The flash went fine and I successfully updated to Fb16, however the problem remains. Still can't see everything I'm supposed to. Have no idea what's wrong..
