Hi, First excuse me for my english and thanks for your forum.
Im having a problem with my motherboard EX58 Extreme since I updated the bios to F5.
I did it because I purchased and EVGA GTX295 and I saw that the F5 resolve some isues with vga. Well since I updated I have screens blue in vista x64 and problems with bios corrupt with cannot solve with HPA. I back to F4 bios but the problems continues.
I change the vga to the old 9800gtx and the same result.
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Good day
i bought a new comp a few days ago

    Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L iP45, SATA2, GLAN
Antec Three Hundred | THREE-HUNDRED EU
    Antec TruePower Trio 550W | TP3-550 EC
    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3 00GHz Boxed | BX80570E8400
    Kingston 1GB, 400MHz, DDR2, PC2-4200, DIMM 240-pin | KTD-DM8400/1G x 2
    MSI N260GTX-T2D896-OC GTX260 896MB Overclocked + Tom Clancys Rainbow Six | N260GTX-T2D896-OC
Samsung 22x DVDRW SATA Writer Bulk Black | SH-S223Q/BEBN
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 SATA, 3Gb/s, 500GB | ST3500410AS

    some minor problems:
The system is built now but doesnt boot...it does one of 3 things:
    1) it hangs and freezes at the verifying DMI pool data screen at startup
    2) it begins setup from cd only to freeze after 2 minutes,...cdrom stops spinning
    3) it sometimes freezes in bios, so i dont dare flash my bios

i've checked memory, bios settings, cleard cmos, disconnected all that isnt really necessary, but still the same..

    any ideas?

They seem to repaired a problem with the RAM though. After assembling my PC it had cold boot, warm boot, whatever, couldn't restart etc. Read on one forum it's memory issue and until I set EPP Mode to Disabled and mem clock to Manual to 800MHz it didn't work properly with my Corsair 2x1GB 6400C4. In this F6 the EPP Mode is Disabled by Optimized Defaults and it is working with mem clock Auto.
    However, my temp 'problem' remained.
Taken into account our whole discussed and the test I did with pressing the HS, should I bother with removing the HS and applying some MX-2 or not? I have to take my whole board out for that. Is it worth it?
I think it may not matter since you pressing on it had no effect, if you are sure you made sure it had contact. It could just be a broken/faulty sensor? Have you emailed tech support to ask if this is a known issue? If not, I would and see if they have had many reports about it >>>

Please try the latest Beta BIOS or you will have to wait until F6 is final >>>

You will have to flash with FlashSPI if you want to flash back from F6 Beta's to a older BIOS, so keep that in mind

Sounds like maybe that ram could be the issue? Do you have any other Memory to test with? If not, I would suggest you buy or borrow a stick of 6400 Speed memory and see if that is the issue

And are you sure that PSU is good enough for that GFX Card? Sorry I don't know much about Nvidia these days and that sounds like a larger GFX Card so I thought I better ask

I could restore to F4 bios, the problem with the F5 I think is the server, because I downloaded again from this forum and it doesnt crash.
Now I think the system is stable, but I have not install the sp1 for vista yet.
    Thanks.

Well the G31 isnt a good overclockers board, but you should be able to change things a little for sure. Can you please link me to your ram, and give me your full settings you are trying that fail and maybe I can help.

lsdmeasap, if you could help me with another question please.
On my MA78G-DS3H I have 2x1GB Corsair DDR2-800, full model number XMS2 CM2x1024-6400C4. I am using the memory as default, no changing settings in BIOS or anywhere else.
I have two more free slots and plan to add Kingston HyperX also 6400C4. As far as I noticed the HyperX 6400C4 is 4-4-4-12 on 1.95V. Everest Ultimate says my current Corsair also works on 1.95V by default.
Can I expect any complications if I combine Kingston HyperX 6400C4 with the Corsair 6400C4?

will post if that did the trick

I do not advise you to mix Brands, it will only cause issues. Sometimes even the same brand but different chips used in the sticks (Revisions) can cause issues.

Yes, you may be able to get them to work together, but you may also spend days trying to get things stable only to find this to be the cause.

You can try it of course, but I advise you to get a matching set for either one if you want more ram. That would be best and easiest to setup
