    Default SATA HDD disappeared

Yesterday night, my house RCD tripped while I'm uploading file to internet. After recovered PC power, I found that my SATA HDD disappeared from windows XP HDD list - other 2 IDE HDD, FDD, DVD drives & movable drive remained. I opened device manager, selected drives icon and right clicked on it then forced it to scan for hardware change. Device manager didn't found the SATA drive.

However, every time I rebooted the PC, BIOS reported existence of the SATA HDD. I tried connect that SATA HDD to SATA0 then 1 of my gigabyte GA-8S655FX(-L) motherboard (my motherboard had 2 available SATA ports). Each time BIOS could found the HDD drive.
Was my SATA dead ? If no, how could I make XP to discover it again ?

The manual is about configuring new SATA HDD(s) which is different from mine. As said before, my SATA was originally detected by XP but disappeared after fuse tripped. There were data in that problemtic SATA HDD. My problem now is how recover the HDD - data inside the HDD.

Besides, I had tested that both SATA0, SATA1 and all SATA cables were working because I had another WD SATA HDD - the same model - with linux installed; linux could boot up alone by isolating all the IDE based HDD where OS was installed.

    1.Which HDD you use.
2.What is your SiS Serial ATA Controller and SiS Serial ATA Mode set in BIOS?
3.If you just using SATA HD and not IDE HDD, can your OS foINd the HDD drive?
