    Default GA-P35C-DS3R Memory slot issues

    Hi All,

    There seems to be a problem with the 3rd and 4th DDR2 memory slots on my GA-P35C-DS3R motherboard. I was attempting to evaluate my memory sticks by running Memtest 86+ and Windows Diagnostic Utility. When I place my DDR2 memory into the 1st or 2nd memory slots, these diagnostics return no errors, even after several passes. When I place the same DDR2 memory into the 3rd or 4th memory slot, these diagnostics return hundreds of errors on the first pass. Is there any way to fix this issue without returning the motherboard for repair? In particular, I was wondering if I could somehow adjust the voltage to deal with this.

    Here are my system specs:

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775
    GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
    2 x CORSAIR TWIN2X2048-8500C5D
    eVGA NVIDIA GeForce 8600GTS 256MB GDDR3
    Samsung SpinPoint HD501LJ 500GB
    ASUS DRW-1814BLT (Black 18X DVD+R )
    Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit (OEM)

    Note that my RAM is Corsair Dominator
    TWIN2X2048-8500C5D, and it works fine in the first two DDR2 memory slots.

    Thanks for your help,

    i did have the same problem as you , had to change the make of ram, but have you noticed just how many entries there has been on this forum with this version of mobo and a q6600 quad cpu? i have the same set up and i have had too many issues with slight overclocking and i cant get the pc to sleep through windows , so decided to buy an asrock with the 43 chipset.....

    Post your current bios settings using this P35 bios template.
    Fill in your bios settings and specify AUTO where appropriate.
    Also add the "normal" values displayed in your bios.

    1) List your system components in your forum signature.
    --> User CP tab (upper left corner of web page)
    --> select Edit Signature
    --> enter your hardware components (brand, model, etc.)
    --> include your bios version
    --> preview
    --> Save when complete

    2) Link to your ram's full specifications.
