    Default DDR2-800 in DDR2-1066 board??

Please excuse a newbie question: Can I use DDR2-800 in a DDR2-1006 motherboard? The board[s] I'm interested in are:[all Gigabyte]
    GA-MA770-DS3 or GA-MA78GM-S2H
As you can tell, it's been ages since I've built a system.
Memory I'd like to use would be either A-Data or G-Skill [possibly Mushkin]. If anyone knows any compatibility issues, please let me know.

Default Re: DDR2-800 in DDR2-1066 board??

Yes, you can. You ram will run at what ever you set it to in the BIOS, 800 is normally the default even in a ddr2-1200 Motherboard.

DDR2-1066 Motherboard simply means that board "Officially" supports that speed, but most will do much higher anyway.....But that is "Un-Official"

I Use < Mushkin so I highly suggest that, have had no issues with it in 3 of my Gigabyte boards

See here is my Mushkins in a DDR2-1066 board the P35-DS4 ( Ohh and unsupported CPU as well )

I think they just need to update their supported lists
