Well, some things need .net I would install that for sure, all versions of it in order

Yeah that is pretty weird, have you tried a USB to PS2 adapter?

Haha well I just happened to have one laying around and tried it this morning... but didn't work!!! The keyboard had power during boot but once it got to windows it was completely dead. No lights at all.

I might load an extra drive up with windows just to see if it comes back..

    Hmm VERY WEIRD

Have you tested the keyboard on a different PC lately to be sure it is actually working properly?

All of this is VERY strange, it should work with a PS2 adapter for sure!

Did you ask about this at their forum I linked earlier? It could just simply be some strange SP3 bug?

Instead of a extra drive, if I was you. I would setup a Dual boot, XP SP2 and see if that works, then you might have a better idea if it is SP3 or not. And if so, you will have to point that out to the manufacturer and see what they say

Yep I have a desktop behind my gaming PC running Ubuntu Linux and the keyboard works fine. I just used it to login to that pc.

Googling I see a couple others who've had this same issue with a gigabyte board, but a bios update fixed their problem.

It worked in SP3 before though. :) This only happened when I changed out my motherboard from a 965P-DS3 to the GA-P35-S3G.

Hmm well Maybe update or downgrade the BIOS and see if that fixes it. Remember after your Qflash (Dont use @BIOS) to load optimized defaults, then save and apply/reboot and then come in and make your changes

Are you loading Optimized Defaults and Then SAVE and Apply and Reboot then make your changes when flashing the BIOS? If not you MUST do this

You could try uninstalling the USB controller in device manager and let windows reinstall it, that may work, but who knows

I have the same problem -- and only recently figured out it was related to SP3. I have an Avant Stellar keyboard and right now, the Escape key isn't functioning. On reboot, the number one, letters "D" and "B" may not function; occasionally "B" will be mapped to "X" or another letter.

I bought a new Avant keyboard -- the manufacturer suspected the chip on the keyboard failed. No joy -- same behavior. I tried an old keyboard and different keys stopped operating.

It doesn't matter if I connect via PS/2 or USB (with the manufacturer's PS/2 to USB adapter).

A Google search brought up post from others having similar problems. My guess is others are experiencing this, but don't know where to search or how to post. I'm cross-posting to the other foums.

If you come up with a solution and can let me know (or want to contact me off-line), do it here. I'll do the same.

For the time being, I'm rebooting. Lots.

Have you asked the manufacturer of the keyboard about it, or looked on their site for drivers?

And do you have the Intel .Inf package installed? >>>
