Let me know the model and I will look for you and or post some settings for you to try, here is CPU-z >>>

wow ok then SPD says it can run EPP#1 @ 2.1v 4-4-4-12 and that the RAM is CM2X1024 6400C4. which is the better ram.... hmmmm so ill have to change my ram voltage....

Well you would see JEDEC and SPD timings, if you see 444-12 it can do it but you will need to overclock your CPU to run 800Mhz @ 1:1 with the ram though

Here is stock CPU and ram at 800MHz using a multiplier

    Robust Graphics Booster___________ [Auto]
    CPU Clock Ratio ____________ [7.5]
    CPU Host Clock Control_ [Enabled]
    CPU Host Frequency (MHz)__________ [333]
    PCI Express Frequency (Mhz)_______ [100]
    C.I.A. 2__________________________ [Disabled]
    System Memory Multiplier (SPD)____ [2.40]
DRAM Timing Selectable_______ SPD __ [Manual]
    Performance Enhance = [Standard]

    CAS Latency Time________________ 4
    Dram RAS# to CAS# Delay_________4
    Dram RAS# Precharge Delay_______4
    Precharge Delay (tRAS)__________ 12

Start with the higher numbers, and move lower ONE AT A TIME testing after each move

    ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)_________3-4
Rank Write to READ Delay________ 4-5 Use First >> 9-11
    Write to Precharge Delay_________ 3-5
    Refresh to ACT Delay______________32-42
    Read to Precharge Delay__________3-6
    Static tRead Value_______________ (6) 7-10
Static tRead Phase Adjust________ 1-31 << Leave on Auto or 1-31 or Zero

    System Voltage Control____ [Manual]
    DDR2 OverVoltage Control__ [+0.300V] = 2.1V
    PCI-E OverVoltage Control_ [+0.1V] << For Stability
FSB OverVoltage Control___ [+0.1V] << For Stability
    (G)MCH OverVoltage Control [+0.1V] << For Stability

If you have 2X2GB sticks let me know because you will need different settings then I posted above

OK basically i have 2x1gb sticks... Slot #1 in the SPD Section says totally different attributes to Slot #3....

    Slot #1 has.........JEDEC #1........ JEDEC#2........... EPP#2
    Frequency:.........270mhz............400mhz....... ......400mhz
    CAS Latency:......4.0...................5.0........... .........4.0
    RAS to CAS:........4.....................5............... ........4
    Ras Precharge:.....4.....................5............ ...........4

    tRC:...................15...................22.... ..................102
    Command rate:............................................. ........2T
    Voltage:..............1.8v...............1.8v..... ...............2.1v

Where as Slot #3 has: with no titles etc.

    Frequency:........270mhz...........400mhz
    CAS Latency:......4.0...................5
    RAS to CAS:........4.....................5
    Ras Precharge:.....4.....................5
    tRAS:.................13...................18
    tRC:...................15...................22
    Command rate:...............................(blanked out)
    Voltage:..............1.8v...............1.8v

So ive decided to just go ahead and buy 4x1gig OCZ Platinum 6400 4-4-4-12. BUT!!!

To run the new voltage for the ram i can just tweak this area. To what you wrote above and it should all work out..??

    System Voltage Control____ [Manual]
    DDR2 OverVoltage Control__ [+0.300V] = 2.1V
    PCI-E OverVoltage Control_ [+0.1V] << For Stability
FSB OverVoltage Control___ [+0.1V] << For Stability

If those are the same exact sticks I would RMA them anyway just due to that fact. The SPD programming is messed up, they could be different modules. If you bought them as a set you should for sure RMA them, even if they were not a set, but the same sticks they should still match

If you do not want to then just try the suggested settings I posted, they should however be the exact same if they were a set, even if they are not a set but the SAME model they should still have the correct SPD.

I suggest against OCZ, I said before they have issues with GA boards.

You should get a different brand to avoid future issues

As for the voltages with the ram you have now, yeah and the timings all that as well should work with those sticks, provided they are the same and not just messed up SPD programming in that one. If it is a different stick then it may not handle 2.1

OK im gettin hold of the company i bought this comp through and im going to send the sticks back and get a refund... Im rather annoyed with this BS.

    Ive found this on ebay......

    G.Skill 4GB 2x2 DDR2-800 PC2-6400 memory Life w'ty CL4 - eBay DDR2, Memory, RAM, Components, Upgrades, Computers. (end time 06-Jun-08 07:33:49 AEST)

seems like a good deal so i might buy the ram....

Those are good sticks, but you can find them MUCH cheaper at a Etailer. Not sure about what store to suggest to you in AU, but you should look around and online stores unless Ebay is your only option.

Have you removed the sticks and looked at them? If they are the same then it could be a simpler Programming error (Which I would still return them to OCZ, and they would say the same to you) but sounds like you bought a prebuilt system so who knows what you have under the hood. Could be one OCZ and another cheap ass stick with a OCZ heatsink stuck on there just to rip you off

Yeah, Mushkins and G.Skill run great in GA boards

LOL i think you have read me wrong man :) My sticks that arent working properly are Corsair. I purchased 4-4-4-12 timing ram but they seem to have given me one 4-4-4-12 and one 5-5-5-18 which doesnt make sense since they should be pre-packaged together.... as a matched pair etc. I am just going to send them back when i have gotten some new ram from ebay or watever... Get a refund or store credit..
