Here's a summary for anyone interested:

    Gigabyte P35-S3G w/F2 bios - F4 corrupted by @BIOS ...
... Aug11 Mon - RMA shipped Priority Mail from IN
... Aug13 Wed - RMA delivered to Gigabyte in CA
    ... Aug25 Mon - Arrived UPS - Original Board w/F4 - Benchtop Post OK!

I have a new HSF on order that uses a bottom plate, so the complete mobo re-install won't be finished for a couple more days. But with CPU+MEM+Video it does POST, showing BIOS version F4, and it searches for a system drive. After attaching a keyboard, I can enter setup. My pre-saved configs are all gone, of course. It is the exact same board that I sent-in, BTW. Lesson learned. That was my first & last attempt to flash BIOS from desktop. Cost me $8 shipping and a few weeks using a salvaged socket 423 machine as a third system. Classes start today, so this works for me. Cheers!

Glad to hear you got a return so quick. I have in the past heard longer wait times.

Good luck in getting it all set back up, and yes no @BIOS from now on. If you do not have a floppy and cant get USB to work then please save yourself a headache and make a 1GB FAT32 partition on the and of your disk to keep your BIOS file in to flash with Qflash from

I've got a floppy installed - I just need to use it! ha Seriously, if I'd stayed with the A: flash utility, I'd have avoided this whole mess. Qflash also seems like a workable solution to consider, and I'll read more about it. Thanks for keeping this forum interesting.
