Thinking about replacing the stock chassi fans that came with my Gigabyte chassi with an Arctic Cooling chassi fan, dunno if it will make any difference though.

Ahh not best to replace stock with stock..... They likely both suck noise-wise!

If you have to, just add both in there if you can.

Actually the ones I have now are fairly quiet. I have two 120mm, one in the front sucking in air and one in the rear blowing out air. Found an Arctic Cooling 120mm fan at work, I was thinking maybe that it would possibly push more air/and/or be ever more quiet, but its just a thought, or I am just bored and wanna mod something hehe...

CRAP I just realized something. I might not be able to fit a large heatsink/cpu cooler in my system :( Atleast not installed the best way - Mounted so the cpu fan blows air through the heatsink towards the rear chassi fan.
My chassi has the PSU unit mounted topside and as it is now I have about 10mm of free space between the cpu heatsink and the PSU unit :( My current cpu cooler is 95mm wide, that would mean I could fit MAX 115mm of heatsink in that space.
Is there any other way I could mount a cooler/heatsink? Would installing it with the cpu cooler-fan blowing from top to bottom be any good? My PSU unit fan blows air downwards - top to bottom, but that air is not as cool as the rest of the chassis :| Damn

No, best way would be towards the rear. Down would overheat your GFZ card, and Upwards would overheat your PSU. You sure your PSU blows downward? That should not be, it should be out the back, or out the top

Yes I am sure the PSU blow air downwards. It looks exactly like this one, but mine is 680W
PC Perspective - Hiper Type R Mk II 880W Power Supply Review and it can only be installed one way cuz of the alignment of the screwholes of the PSU/chassi

gonna post a pic in a sec

Are you sure that is not exhausted out the back? Mine is similar and gets exhausted out the back FOR SURE.... As it should be. Pumping heat into your case is likely not what is going on with that, I doubt any designer thought up that as a design

LOL yeah you are right, you had me scared there for a while. The fan that is aimed downwards is indeed sucking in air and blowing it out the back :)

    Woot I miscalculated a bit :p it seems I can fit a 120mm heatsink after all :)

Nice! Yeah I thought it had to for sure be sucking in and blowing out the back!

Good for you to see you can now get a larger heatsink, just be sure to actually take measurements to be sure especially if you order a Thermalright one

yeah I will for sure meassure. I know for certain the Thermalright HR-01 Plus will fit regarding width and length, but I am only 99% it will fit on the height, its 159mm high and my case is 180mm wide outer meassurement that is. I am guesstimating it is ~177mm wide inside.
