Im back from my friend now. His card works as it is supposed to. It goes into 2D mode and goes back to 3D mode no matter how long he's been idle, unlike mine. Gonna go over to him again tomorrow and test my card in his computer.

Found a swedish site that has Mushkin Redline in stock so I ordered myself a 2x2Gb Kit :)

well if it turns out to be bad Ill see if I can return it. The redlines will be sweet yeah, will switch to Vista x64 when I have them, will be another 10 days before I get my paycheck so it will be a long wait hehe...

Vista x64 may give you more headaches. I started to use it and went back to 32 because of so many unsigned drivers that wont work I just a gave up on it. Sure you can hit F8 on every boot and select to load them anyway but that sucks

Hey, if you are getting charged alot for the redlines you may want to look at XP Model 996580 They are just as good and will do the same speed/timings and normally are a little cheaper, and in your case could be much cheaper

Actually it was the other way around. Mushkin XP DDR2 PC6400/800MHz CL4 2x2GB (996580) costs including shipping fee 110 Euros (~$170) and Mushkin Redline XP DDR2 PC8000/1000MHz CL5 2x2GB (996593) cost me 90 euros (~$138) so I am quite happy with the deal :)

You know you can turn off the driver signing right? No need for hitting F8 on every boot, there is an automated tool called ReadyDriverPlus that disables it for you everytime. Check this link. Permanently Turn Off and Disable 64-bit (x64) Windows Vista Forced Driver Signature Signing with ReadyDriver Plus Tip and Trick

Good deal then, that 996580 is a great kit, that is likely why the price was higher

Yeah, I have seen that, but it can also cause some issues with other things I have read. Maybe someday MS will fix this issue, but not likely since they look at it as a "Feature"
