    not working.
    I tried: voltage 2.1v, timings 5-5-5-15, tRfc 62

It seems any configuration I tried that has the volatage higher than 1.8 is failing
tried that the only change is the 2.1v (with 55515 / 52 (auto)) - still no go.
it reboots 2-3 times and finally posts with that error message and 1.8v

Will it load with XMP profile of 444-12?

You could try the Beta BIOS F8a listed here >>>
    GIGABYTE - Support - Motherboard - BIOS - GA-EP45-DS3R (rev. 1.0)

Or you could try F5 which was the overclocking fix before F6 and F7 came out, newest is not always best and F5 supports your CPU >>>

I remember reading that F5 had issues with ATI HD4850.
and F8a doesn't seem to change anything other than DES
(I just afraid killing the board with a faulty bios flash)

not sure what is XMP? you want me to set it to profile1 with 1.8v and timing 4-4-4-12? (I can't set voltage to 2.1 cause I'm pretty sure it won't post)

Well they only list the Major changes not all the minor ones. As for 4850, that is just what you hear, best to try them all out I would think. But yeah I do hear ya on the flashing, but you should be ok using Qflash though. Either way if you do not get it to work I would personally be RMA'n it anyway so a bad flash would just speed that up. It is a board/BIOS issue because that ram is compatible and the timings I gave you should work

XMP Should have a 555-15/18 profile with 1.8 and a 444-12 profile with 2.1. 444-12 is not going to post at all with 1.8V it is not enough. If the XMP profiles do not load voltages only timings then if you have it load the 444-12 and set voltage to 2.1 manually

You dont have a crappy PSU do you?

    PSU is Enermax Modu82+ 525W.
doesn't Qflash requires a floppy? I'll have to go to 1990 to find one...
Is there a way to have the full list of changes in the bios? or does gigabyte hide it?

I'll try this XMP profile thing, so I just select the 444-12 profile save and reboot?

I only have "profile1" in the XMP section. when I select it, it changes the timings but leaves the voltage on 1.8

Qflash can be done with a USB stick, or by putting a BIOS file onto a Small Fat32 partition

Yeah if you have XMP profile that is 444-12 select it, and set voltage to 2.1 as 1.8 is not going to be enough

No, they do not announce the changes other then major items

well... i tried the XMP profile with 444-12 and 1.8V -- it did post and i was able to get into the bios w/o the error ... BUT, when I tried to load vista, it failed quickly on the winloader.. and after that took a scary few minutes and many retries until I was able to get back to the bios and set the 555-15 back..

where is the post beep when you need it... (wish the board had a post led or a speaker at least)

Like I said 1.8 is not enough for 444-12 set to 2.1 and try again with 444-12

is there any difference trying XMP profile 444-12 with 2.1v and setting manually to 444-12 with 2.1v? cause I've tried the later and it didn't work.
