    Default GA-X48T-DQ6 -- Random Restarts/Reboots

    Hi,
I've just built a new system with this motherboard.
    RAM is 8GB of OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333 Platinum.
    OS is Vista Ultimate 64.
    BIOS version is F4.

    EDIT: Flashed to F5 now.

I'm getting random restarts using all default BIOS settings - I read that 'loosening' memory timings can help this sort of problem, so I've tried adjusting memory timings to 8-8-8-21 and that seems to improve stability slightly, but I'm new to this and would really appreciate some help please!

    Thanks in advance

Two things I would try right away:'
    1. Flash the F5 BIOS.
    2. Install Vista 32-bit with SP1.

I just built my GA-X48T-DS6 with an E8400 and 2 GB of Corsair 10600 DDR3. I am running the F5 BIOS and Vista 32-bit with SP1 not problems.
I have not tried to OC yet. Still testing all my components from newegg.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Darkstar.
I did flash the F5 BIOS but it bricked my MB - Apparently lots of people had problems with the F5 BIOS when it was released on the 18th - GB have now released a new one dated 21st, but I'm a bit nervous about flashing it!

Surprised you say install 32 bit? 64 is the future surely?!
I use lots of memory hungry apps - Lightroom, Photoshop and I need the 8GB - 32bit won't use all that RAM.

Since my first post I ran Prime95 for 8 hours with no problems, so it's seems that the system has stabilized using the 8-8-8-21 timings and "Performance boost" to 'standard'.

I would still like some input from the Gigabyte tech though because I'd ideally like to run the RAM at stock timings (7-7-7-20) and start OCing the processor a bit...

    Thanks

ummmm.....Darkstar WPB, why on earth would one install a 32 bit O/S with 8GB of ram?? 32 bit will not use more than 3.5 GB.

So does anyone have any hints regarding BIOS setup to improve stability?

I've now flashed BIOS version F5, see if that helps.

By the way I donīt see any problem if you change your memory setting
    to :
    Cas Latency Time>7
    DRAM RAS# to Cas# Delay 7
    DRAM RAS# Precharge 7
    Precharge Delay 21

But always run all this test with 4GB only.

Thanks mangus37 - why do you suggest doing this with only 4GB??

I'd like to use the full 8GB - not sure why the stock settings don't work with this??

OK. The bios setting for 4x2gb is not the same as 2x2gb.
I suggest you to contact Eric Ryder ( eryder@ocztechnology.com) from OCZ Technology.
    He has experience with x48t-dq6 & 4X2GB.
