Ya know having speedstep on likely is causing you issues as well. You should disable EIST and C1E

K, Good luck and I will see you tomorrow

I did not get a chance to try any other ram, but I might just buy some g.skill anyway.

The very strange thing though, is I managed to run my pc all last night with no problems once i tipped it on the side. When I had it standing up again the issues came right back almost instantly.

I managed to run UT3 among other games whilst it was on it's side for hours on end. I do not know if this is somehow coincidence, but it's tripping me out a little.

I think we have the identical problem. During post process it stops before it checks the memory then resets for a couple of time (anywhere between 1 to 6 times) before it continues to complete post and finally boot properly. I've tried going back and forth between the different BIOS versions but the problem persists regardless of the version installed.

I have 4 x 2 gb sticks of gskill pc6400 and E8500 CPU. I haven't had your problem of restarting in the middle of vista but then I haven't installed and games or other programs requiring a lot of memory.

At what point does you post restart happen?

Have you ran Memtest86+ newest Version on your ram one stick at a time, then both in Dual channel? If not I would advise you to start there >>>
    http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

Also trfc must be 52-62 for 2x2GB, and you need to manually set the Ram voltage to the spec on your ram sticker, and also add .1-.2 MCH Core voltage (1.2-1.25-1.3)

Yeah, I'm having the exact same problem too! Gskill 6400 2x2gb, EP45-DSP, Intel 9450, and 2 WD Raptors in RAID 0. So annoying.

I did all of your suggestions in your initial post. None of them are effective. The only difference now is that before it got to "Mem" before restarting. Now it gets to "Memory testing: 4GB OK". Whoooo. What a sh!tty motherboard.

Please post exactly what settings you are using because I posted ranges. It is not a ****ty Motherboard. It is a expensive enthusiast overclockers board, with 4GB of ram. You will need to do some tweaking for sure

Another brand of board, may be easier for you to adjust, but will have FAR LESS BIOS options.

I know it ifs frustrating when boards do not adjust easily, but I am just trying to help.

So if you are still planing on keeping that one and not returning it, then post me the full settings you tried that fail and I will advise you again >>>>
