I have both GA-EP45-DQ6 (F10o) and GA-EP45-DS5 (F10n) motherboards and can verify that on the DS5 while the JMicron RAID Driver (1.17.38.5) can still be installed you don't want to. The Hard Disk LED will then stay on continuously even after all rebuilding and verifying of the S5723 volumes is complete.
The JMB36X Raid Configurer installed by the driver cannot see the volume (runs as Device Not Found) and is redundant. The F10n BIOS turns off the Gigabyte Raid Utility when the S5723 device is enabled and controls it as a standard IDE channel (adding channels 4 and 5, Master and Slave). Therefore don't install the JMB36X Raid driver on the DS5. That removes the Hard Disk LED issue and the 57xx SteelVine Manager (5.1.20) controls the volume as intended. The S5723 device does not appear directly as a storage controller in Device Manager.

The DQ6 is doing things a bit differently right now.
Enabling the S5723 device in the BIOS does turn on the Gigabyte Raid Utility (at boot up) and the SteelVine Manager morphs into the Gigabyte Smart Backup (5.1.20). There is no choice but to install the JMB36X Raid Driver as it now apppears in the Device Manager. Not installing the driver disables the S5723 volumes and they are not accessible until you do. The Gigabyte Raid Utility software becomes operative (RAID the RAID). However the Hard Disk LED is on forever...

They have a large discussion on this, going on over here >>>
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/ep45-ds5-dq6-27384/

Some in depth testing and such

Also, some peak of all of this here >>>

Just thought you may want to add some to that talk, or see what they have found out

It does? Plain qflash of F10o over F9, and I did not notice difference, except SteelVine (5.1.24B) did not saw the 5723 at all (in Vista x64, but did in Centos5.2 x64). Just got replacement for drive that went awry during previous testing, so this was just a quick peek and cannot test much more.

Message to anyone having the same problem. I had this same problem and solved it by unchecking these two entries in the startup list in msconfig:
    -- 57xxSteleSteleVine (VineManager.exe)
    -- JMBX IDE Setup (xInsIDE.exe)

If you uncheck these two so they don't load any more I think you'll find that your HD LED problems in Vista will be solved. You don't need them to load anyway if you're not using Smart Backup.
