Hi, I'm sorry to superimpose upon your thread guys, but I just wanted to say a big thanks to Lsdmeasp for providing such detailed advice with regards to o'clocking the GA-EP45-DS3R Q6600 combo as I have just purchased the GA-EP45-DS3 and Q6600 and being unable to find any quality advice or suggested BIOS setting anywhere online for the past 2 weeks to help with overclocking. After following this thread and the specs provided after making a few adjustments I have successfully overclocked to 3.2Ghz Prime95 stable for 4hours so far, but i’ll leave it run for 24hours when I get a chance to confirm. I have tried almost everything to get to 3.4Ghz but after a few minutes of Prime 95 both large and small tests it BSOD’s on me. I am aware my Vdroop is pretty large (as illustrated below) and have not ventured past 1.4500V in BIOS but perhaps if it’s safe to do so this may get me to 3.4Ghz. Anyway I have provided my successful settings in the hope they may help someone else as the information provided here has helped me, and without meaning to hijack your thread if there are any suggestions for improvement to my settings they would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
My Hardware is as follows,

You have the same Q6600 VID 1.325v that i have lol yeah getting to 3.4 with a mobo mod might be tough because of the high vcore that we must use lol.

Also we should keep each other informed because I'm looking for a way to push this baby to 3.4ghz so far everthing that LSD says work. Gigabyte is my MOBO of choice now. Had a foxconn board and I can tell you that there were only about at most 5-6 options you could change to overclock your system and it sucked. Customer Sevice there was a joke thier excuse to everything was please just use preloaded bios they were unwilling to help.

If LSD would let me I would add him to my msn friends list he really has no clue how much he is praised here! LSD you are #1 :)

Okay made all changes listed in RED and passed memtest so far so good and even was able to use MCH Frequency Latch 400. Is that good or is 266 better? LSD I'm all yours and also I ran prime95 and stable.

Glad to see Kardarbin having good luck as well, I would advise him to also use 333 or 4000 for MCH latch so you can use a better ram multiplier

And thanks for the kind words, it is most appreciated

266 is a strap is all, it should be at or above what you set FSB to. 400 is the better choice if you can use it. Which I see you can, Nice ram speed!!!

You could try >>>
tRAS 12

But It may likely fail unless you raise some trfc back up a bit first.. But at that speed it may not work anyway without all other settings loose again.... And that would be pointless!

You could also see how stable your ram is at 2.0V and or if you can use less MCH voltage or not would be the next thing I would mess with. You may not be able to use less of either but it is worth a shot

Looks very good Shauntx, so how you like those ram's over your others?

I forgot, what did you used to have?

Hey LSD,

I love the new settings its kinda weird because as you sad that I would get errors everything that you told me to try so far has worked flawlessly. Now I have just been testing all voltage to get lowest as you said and thank you.

Also I did notice that when trying to run 400MHz at 3.33 it was not working at proper speed I had a divider of 5:3 in CPU-Z with I think it was DRAM frequency like 673MHz however it past memtest, is that good or bad? hmm... I have since change it to 400MHz to 2.00 system memory multiplier which gives me memory frequency of 754 anything higher and system won't boot. But its weird that it boots at 3.33MHz

Also I was able to run my MCH Core back to 1.100V as started.

WOW I'm at 3.4 now after tweaking things as you said and I'm only using 1.39v I'm testing prime now but its going good so far. LSD you are perfect! Also:

tRAS 12 worked beautfully I did have to adjust tRFC from 48 to now 50 but its running smooth. My max temps for 3.4GHz is only 53-56c at full loads 38 idle. I feel the urge to try for 3.6GHz (go big right). So for 3.6GHz should I just adjust CPU Host Frequency 400 and increase Vcore I have tested my memory and I think it will do fine but will have to test again to make sure. What do you think LSD?
