I almost Guarantee you they are not. They are too far apart in age to be the same, Crucial Has switched chips used, and single / double sided / And back to single two or three times this year already.

I believe the errors would be gone if you had matching ram, no matter what brand it is

So yes, if you buy some new 2x2 of any brand you will have no errors once you get your settings right. And yes, Mushkin sticks are Great!

Ok, thank you for your patience for my stupid questions! :D

I'm not sure if i'm going to run on 2*1GB for a while or buy new Mushkin right away!? ;)

Not wanting to hijack this thread (apologies to original poster) but rather than starting another thread on nearly the same subject can I ask for advice on a prob I've got with the same board please?
    GA-P35C-DS3R Rev2.0 F11 BIOS. C2D E8400 nothing o'clocked.
I've got 2 matched pairs of this ram http://www.corsairmemory.com/product...WIN2X2048-6400

and since install I've had the occasional BSOD "IRQ_Not_Less_Or_Equal". I've checked through the IRQ's and there are no conflicts and I understand this message can sometimes be indicative of a memory prob.
On the .pdf it states the voltage should be 1.9v, I've changed the voltage settings in the bios to manual and upped the voltage by 0.1v but in the pc health section of the bios (and also cpu-z) it still shows as 1.8v. I've run memtest with 1 set in at a time for 4 hours+ with no errors.
Any suggestions,or am I barking up the wrong tree thinking it's a memory prob?

When you had the problems, for how long had the computer been running? Days, weeks?

The new ram was installed about a month ago, I've had about 4-5 bsod's altogether, same error message. There's no pattern to the crashes, sometimes the machine's been on all day before crashing, sometimes only for a couple of minutes. No pattern task-wise either, sometimes playing a game, sometimes just surfing the net.
The majority of the time it seems to run fine all day without a prob so it's not life-threatening, but it's irritating as hell every time you start a task wondering if this is the time the machine's going to go t*ts-up in the middle of it.
The ram in the machine before the upgrade was 4x1gb sticks of crucial PC2-5300 and it never had one bsod in all the time it was installed - 6 months+. That's why I'm wondering if the voltage is relevant to my prob, Corsair's site says my new ram needs 1.9v and the Crucial was only 1.8v. I can't understand why the change I'm making in the voltage section of the bios isn't showing up as being applied in either the pc health section of the bios or on cpu-z.

Try +.2 and see if it is closer to 1.9. Yes, that error is usually a Memory fault caused by too tight of a timing. Can you post your full table of settings for me to look at?

This is Just a template I use to ask people their settings, pay no attention to the numbers in it, replace with yours

    Code:

For 4x1 I would suggest you use these settings >>>

    Robust Graphics Booster___________ [Auto]
    CPU Clock Ratio ____________ [9]
    Fine Clock Ratio ____________[0.5]
    CPU Host Clock Control_ [Disabled]
    CPU Host Frequency (MHz)__________ [266]
    PCI Express Frequency (Mhz)_______ [100]
    C.I.A. 2__________________________ [Disabled]
    System Memory Multiplier (SPD)____ [Auto]
DRAM Timing Selectable_______ SPD __ [Auto] << Manual

    Performance Enhance = [Standard]

    CAS Latency Time________________ 5
    Dram RAS# to CAS# Delay_________ 5
    Dram RAS# Precharge Delay_______5
    Precharge Delay (tRAS)__________ 18

ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)_________ 3
Rank Write to READ Delay________ 3
    Write to Precharge Delay_________ 6
Refresh to ACT Delay______________ 42 << This needs to be much higher for 4GB, I would suggest 54-62

    Read to Precharge Delay__________ 3
Static tRead Value_______________ 7 << May need to be 8, but not likely. I think Refresh to act delay so low is your issue

Static tRead Phase Adjust________ 25 [Auto] << always Auto

    System Voltage Control____ [Manual]
DDR2 OverVoltage Control__ [+0.1V] << maybe +.15-.2 if .1 is not giving you 1.9V as you may need the full 1.9. And just so you know 2.0V would be safe as well

    PCI-E OverVoltage Control_ [Normal]
    FSB OverVoltage Control___ [Normal]
    (G)MCH OverVoltage Control [Normal] << +.2
    CPU Voltage Control_______ [Normal]

Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply mate, I'll change those settings straightaway & hopefully that'll sort it. There have been quite long gaps between bsod's so I won't know immediately but I'll keep you posted.
