    I asked about the left column because I tried just copying that settings at the right and it didnt work either.

    Ya, Auto will often not work so well. Please post for me what you are trying, and I will see if I can tell you why it fails.

    Hello Lsdmeasap... I was busy last week, so yesterday I have begun to do tests again.

    Finally I found the problem I had. It was not related to the BIOS but to the user !!! It happens that some settings under "Memory advanced settings" had some values that I did not see before. After I changed that settings to AUTO as you recommended all worked fine. I did not realized before that there are a lot of settings in the BIOS that get to AUTO when you select the value "0".

    Now I have the board configured in MANUAL DRAM timing working fine. I am adjusting the memory timing to get the most of it under standard settings for my CPU of 333MHz FSB and 333MHz MCH strap. At the moment run ORTHOS for more than 8 hours with tight memory timings. I am proceeding as per your recommendations and checking stability in standard conditions (3.16GHz for the CPU) and will try later increasing the CPU Clock freq. to 3.8GHz. I changed the INTEL CPU heat sink that came with the CPU for a new ThermalTake Typhoon VX and I am getting a 12 degrees Celsius lower temperature. I get now 53 degrees at full CPU load at standard clock of 3.16 GHz. The CPU is now very happy!!!

    Thank you for your help with the timining parameters. I have also learned a lot from the article you pinned about memory timings...MemSet was also useful to change and test memory parameters "on the fly".

    I tell you my final settings when I get there...may be they can be helpful to others with same MoBo and CPU.
    Remember that I am not doing "extreme" overclockink, just triyng to get the most of my stuff but always keeping inside recommended specs for the CPU, Chipset and DRAM.

    What? You lost me with that whole paragraph.

    BUT! Sounds like you are now having good luck!

    I am happy to hear you have learned from things I wrote up, I hoped that many would.

    Ya, MemSet is a Great testing tool for sure!!

    Hello...I am here again after some days and a lot of tests. Finally set CPU frequency at 3.8GHz (20% overclock) and FSB of 400MHz.

    As I told you I am rather conservative, not an "extreme" overclocker. I tested memory for optimal settings at standard CPU frequency (3.16 for my E8500 CPU) with a FSB of 400MHz and 333MHz MCH with a 3.2 multiplier which sets my DDR2-1200 memory at a freq. of 1280 MHz. with a 5-6-5-18 timing. (it hangs at 5-5-5-18) and after getting stable in this conditions I increased the CPU frequency using the 9.5x multiplier to get 3.8GHz.

    When I increased the CPU frequency I also had to increase the Vcore to get the system stable.

    My limits for overclocking were determined by the maximun Vcore specified by INTEL for my CPU of 1.3625V. I prefered to stick to this value and not take any risks.

    Nice to see you have had such good luck!

    Seems to me you have plenty of room to still be within spec >>

    I am not sure what you meant by the **'s on this >>>

    But if you will raise them up abit you can likely maybe still get 5-5-5, but sounds like you know what you are doing so Maybe not.

    trd can't get any lower then 9?

    Hello LSD...it was not only luck, I stay late at night learning and testing for several days...!!

    Well I left a note under the parameters marked with ** because it seems that there is an error in the values that BIOS shows for this parameters (they are different from the values shown by MemSet):

    You are right, I can move Vcore a little higher still... I will try again when I have some time to spend at it. Minimum tRD for board stable is 8.

    I am not sure which is better of this two alternatives:
    1- Use FSB 400MHz with 3.2 multiplier to get the memory at 1280 MHz (a little overclock because the memory is DDR21200) and timings 5-6-5-18 or...
    2 - Use a lower multiplier to get mem freq. under 1200MHz so I can use timings 5-5-5-18.May be I will test both alternatives and compare memory benchmarks with Everest.

    What do you think?

    Ahh, ya sounds like you need to read the Memory guide I posted. Those twtr and twr can vary, from 5-7 or so this ir normal.

    trtp should be what you set, are you sure you are not getting the RED Box warning when you go into MIT section? If so, then your settings are not being used

    Yap, best to bench both ways a few times and see which is better
