Post back when get around to testing.

Did you flash to a NON Beta BIOS yet, or before your #5 post anyway? Just wondering

I tried loosening all the Ram settings as you suggested. No luck. I flashed back to the F3 bios. No luck. I tried the XMP profile before and after switching back to the F3 bios. No luck. Yeah, I have had the command rate at 2. No luck. I turned off all the "speedstep" settings I could find and the ones you mentioned but the cpu vcore voltage STILL will not stay where I put it. I'm starting to think my board's bios is much more ambitious than my motherboard can keep up with. I can't make any overclocking, voltage, or speed adjustments stick. Has ANYONE been able to overclock or make adjustments to this board?

Sorry if I seem whiny... I'm just not real pleased with my board at this point. I'm not any kind of genius but I have overclocked and optimised my systems for years. With this rig I can't set my memory to its stock settings AND I can't even overclock past 3.16 Ghz stable! What's that, like a 4% increase!? Other folks have gotten the E8400 to like 4.5+ Ghz.

If anyone can help me past this crap I'd appreciate it. Thanks for the help thus far.

Did I buy a crappy board? Gigabyte has usually been pretty good. Is it just the "Combo" board that sucks? I thought I was giving myself an upgrade path. Oh well... There, I vented.

I dunno what to say man. I do see issues often with the DDR2 and DDR3 combo boards, best when you do make the switch to DDR3 it is a DDR3 only board.

Try this for 3.618 with ram at 965Mhz and see if we can get anywhere for now at this pace. Vcore is higher then need be, but use it so we can get booted in at closer to 1000Mhz ram and you can lower anytime after that until it fails then raise back up a notch or two

Unhappy Re: GA-EP45C-DS3R memory and voltage questions

Thanks for still trying to help. I'll try this out when I get home. Good thing I didn't run over the board with my car yet...
