    OK.

So the flash was a success and I'm now running bios version F10.

However it hasn't resolved my issued.

I loaded optimized settings, changed my ram voltage to 2.10v (on the second attempt, left it unchanged the first time), restarted the computer. Now instead of just repeatedly power cycling, the box beeps at me approximately 20 times in rapid succession and then shuts down, restarts and repeats...

At least it was quiet while driving me insane before :(

    Any ideas guys? :)

    Just some more info..

I let it run through it's beep and repeat cycle 5 times before pulling the cable out... didn't seem to be going anywhere...

    Any Suggestions?

Also, i'm going to head to bed seeing as it is 5:05 in the morning. So i'm hoping i might awake to a beautiful awesome answer :) I'll post RE: whatever you suggest when I wake up later on this morning :)

Did you put the Perfomance Enhance setting back to standard after loading the Bios Optimized Defaults up?

Plus put your tRFC to 50 and your timings to 5-5-5-18 or 6-6-6-18

You still need to set the BIOS to your stable settings. It likely will not be stable with everything on auto, even though you changed the DRAM voltage. Find someone with a very similar setup who has posted their successful BIOS settings, and you should be ok.

@ VorLonUk: Yes i did.. I will go back and try what you suggested.

@ mxcrowe: To the best of my knowledge my rig's config/bios does closely match other peoples who got theirs to post, however i shall search the forums again :)

Thanks for the advice, ill get to work now..

    Soo..

Before i went to bed last night i did the update, and changed all my settings to be correct.

Well, my brother (who doesn't work :P) went and started to swap out ram sticks to check them all... Turns out one of the sticks was DOA, and that the Bios update fixed the problem with the rest of them :D (i'm very happy in case you can't tell :P)

So thank you very much for the help... I'm now more in love with Gigabyte mobo's then ever before because you can get such awesome tech support for them :)

Thanks again to all :) (Especially VorlonUK, mxcrowe and VenuS)

Ah....that explains it. Damn that DOA h/w! Makes the whole process that much more of a challenge. Anyway, glad to hear you zeroed in on the problem and hopefully you will now be stable with that replacement DIMM.

So you found the issue here then eh? Always test with memtest86+ when you get new ram or hit road bumps with ram that previously was fine. It can die anytime
