    hi
I have the same board and I have the same problems,(bios resetting) running an e5200, 4 gig corsair 800, 4870 512. (3dmark06 is only 9000, and company of heroes I am only getting 20 30 fps due to the cpu bottlenecking the card. Thats why I would like to oc it) I am using f3 bios and have tried all of the other bios's.
I have tried using similar settings to the ones previously posted and still bios resets. I would appreciate any help
I have purchased a new psu jeantec 600 (i know it isnt great) and a new cpu cooler artic freezer I think. cpu sits at 40c load.
    I would appreciate any help.

    thanks in advance.

Hi mudflaps, and welcome. I'm very interested to see how well the e5200 performs on this P35-S3G. My previous settings were all for 2x1gb memory, so you'll at least have to increase the Refresh-to-Act Delay and MCH* voltage to get your 4gb stable. Lsdmeasap can help you tune that, if you furnish some additional info:

Are you using 2x2gb or 4x1gb sticks? Are they all the same model number? Please provide a hyperlink and the recommended voltage. I've found that BIOS F4 DDR +0.2 volts shows as 2.06v-2.10v in SpeedFan.

    What operating system is installed?

The F4 BIOS officially supports Wolfdale. Does the F3 BIOS you have installed now offer an adjustment for the .5 CPU multiplier of your (12.5x200) e5200 Wolfdale? Have you tried the latest F5a Beta BIOS?

Copy one of the BIOS templates from this thread, and insert the values you are currently using. Include any other settings that your CPU may have added. hth

*BTW ... my north bridge chip (MCH) got pretty hot, so I attached a 50mm fan with a wire-tie and by bending a couple of paperclips onto the existing heatsink.

Also, that's a pretty powerful video card. The 19amp split rails on your PSU may be a problem, as you may already know. I'm not a gamer, so don't take my word for it.

@mudflaps. Please do make a new thread with your full specs and what you are trying to run and I will help for sure. I just ask this because this is a long thread and I will get lost as to what you have/have not tried with all the threads I answer. Thanks!

As said above for 4gb you need a higher refresh to act, and Manually set MCH voltage and ram voltages.

but please do make a thread so I can help you more, it will be easier for me that way. I do appreciate it and will help you for sure.

Here is a template please also add your settings you are using now in on your new thread and what you want to run at >>>

This is Just a template I use to ask people their settings, pay no attention to the numbers in it, replace with yours

    Reply Forward

I had a bit of luck yesterday by disabling
    No-Execute Memory Protect............:
    and
    CPU Thermal Monitor 2(TM2) ...........:
worked fine at 3ghz 2 hours on orthos no errors, 10 mins of company of heroes and crash.
I changed the fsb and left the rest of the settings to auto

If i try the same thing again i just get reboot and the bios is reset

I am toying with the idea of getting the e8400 at least that should give me 3ghz.

You did not make a New thread .......... Arggg! HAHA

First off leave TM2 enabled, and no-execute memory protect. TM2 is very important, the later is not so much.

Yes any Real Core 2 Duo would be better then the Dual Core you have

4GB of ram needs several things set for it to work properly these will be in BOLD

Try these settings for 3Ghz >>>>

    obust Graphics Booster___________ [Auto]
    CPU Clock Ratio ____________ [9]
    Fine Clock Ratio ____________[0.0]
    CPU Host Clock Control_ [Enabled]
    CPU Host Frequency (MHz)__________ [333]
    PCI Express Frequency (Mhz)_______ [100]
    C.I.A. 2__________________________ [Disabled]
    System Memory Multiplier (SPD)____ [2.40B]
DRAM Timing Selectable_______ SPD __ [Manual]

    Performance Enhance = [Standard]

    CAS Latency Time________________ 4/5
    Dram RAS# to CAS# Delay_________ 4/5
    Dram RAS# Precharge Delay_______4/5
    Precharge Delay (tRAS)__________12/15/18

^^ If you have 555-15/18 ram use that, if you have 4-4-4-12 ram use that ^^^

Set to all highest below and then later tweak lower one at a time testing with memtest86+ as you go (Must be this version, older will not work) >>>
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)_________ 3-4
Rank Write to READ Delay________ 9-11
    Write to Precharge Delay_________4-6
    Refresh to ACT Delay______________ 52-62
    Read to Precharge Delay__________2-5
    Static tRead Value_______________7 (8-10)

Static tRead Phase Adjust________ [Auto] << always leave

    System Voltage Control____ [Manual]
DDR2 OverVoltage Control__ [+0.3V] = 2.1V set to what you see on your ram sticker

    PCI-E OverVoltage Control_ [+0.1V] << For stability
FSB OverVoltage Control___ [+0.1V] << For stability
    (G)MCH OverVoltage Control [+0.2V - +0.3V] << needed for stable 2x2GB of ram

CPU Voltage Control_______ [auto] 1.25-1.3V << may need more, may need less. It is all up to your chip and board. May also work in Auto but it may be too much like that if you let the board decide. May also work with manually set stock voltage, but not likely. Set higher then you think so you can boot for sure then you can lower later

    ram numbers dont match
    1 is 1876454 08380563
    2 is 1876456 08380563

if i take 1 stick out it seems to boot normally at 3ghz, havnt had time to actually test it.
