    Default EP35C-DS3R owner/intro/question

Great forum guys! It's really nice to see such an active forum for Gigabyte boards.

I've had this board a few months now and I'm sure I'll have some questions.

First off, I notice that a suggestion is made to not use @BIOS. What's the reason for this? I'm running F3 now and it was flashed using @BIOS.

    Thanks.

If you managed to successfully flash your bios with @Bios, then all well and good.

The problem arises with @Bios or any windows "flashing" utility if the OS (ie windows) decides it wants Or an application does, some sort of exclusivity to the system. Obviously windows is a multitasking enviroment, which is not the ideal place to have an uninterrupted procedure to take place in.

It's when the flashing procedure is interupted that the bios image will most likely become corrupt.
The answer is to either use a Dos boot disk, or Qflash to upgrade the bios, so the PC is limited to one task only.
Also it's a good idea to relax any "silly" overclocking (even if it is stable) before you flash the bios.

Several posters to this forum have irreparably damaged their boards using @BIOS, so that is why LSD strongly recommends to avoid using it.

Rightly said, I have used it as well. But suggest against it if at all possible. Which I have posted Several ways to flash, so no one should ever NEED to use it >>>
