    Default Gigabyte GA-EP35C-DS3R oc attempt

Hello every1.first time i post here[tho i been reading for a lot of time now]

Lemme cut to the point . my specs are this motherboard with a q9450 and 2x2gb corsair 800[5-5-5-18]. using f3b bios and have a samurai z cpu cooler

since i am a beginner/noob at OC i tried a very mild oc

    Robust Graphics Booster___________ [Auto]
    CPU Clock Ratio ____________ [8]
    CPU Host Clock Control_ [Enabled]
    CPU Host Frequency (MHz)__________ [350]
    PCI Express Frequency (Mhz)_______ [100]
    C.I.A. 2__________________________ [Disabled]
    System Memory Multiplier (SPD)____ [2.00]
DRAM Timing Selectable_______ SPD __ [Manual]

    Performance Enhance = [Standard]

so just going up to 2.8ghz[350x8] and with spd at 2 my ram downclocks a bit to 700,but it doesnt matter...since the OC doesnt get saved. i have disabled CIA 2 and EIST and C1E

i havent touched anything else cause as i said i am a begginer with limited knowledge when it comes to OC and tbh i just want a mild OC for a start

any idea why this is happening?
    ty for reading :)

What is your tRFC set to?

Seeing you are using 4GB of ram, you could set it to 54. That will give the stability you need when attempting an overclock (and at default clock speeds)
    GA-P35C-DS3R Rev2.0 F11 bios, E8200 (@3.0Ghz), OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 Reaper 4GB (@1200Mhz), Xonar D1, 8800GTS 512, Corsair HX520 (Single 12volt line, Max 40A), WDC 3200aaks/5000aaks in AHCI mode, Vista 64 Premium.

    Ya, 42 just wont work.

And this is why your ram is running at 700 >>>
    System Memory Multiplier (SPD)____ [2.00]

FSB X Memory Multiplier = Ram Freq

    So

    350 x 2.00 = 700Mhz

You must also manually set the ram voltage to what you see on the sticker, Likely 2.0 or 2.1 which is +0.2 or +0.3

And you have to add +.15 - .2 to MCH voltage

yep, i know i downclocked my ram. but, when using 350 fsb theres was no multiplier available that would keep me at 800Mhz so instead of increasing it i preffered lowering it.
as for the ram voltage i will look into it and try the numbers u gave me

    cheers

yep. with 350 fsb , there was no multiplier available to choose that kept me exactly at 800Mhz, so i used a lower one instead of increasing past 800Mhz.
as for the voltages, i will check them out and see what happens

    cheers
