Default So How does Strap Work on Gigabyte Boards

I read somewhere that northbridge has it's own timings and latencies, and it will adjust itself base on the actual FSB frequency. The normal cutoff points are 266, 333, and 400. So as a result, if you actually get a decrease in performance if you set your FSB frequency from 400 to 401, because at 400 FSB, the northbridge will use the 400 strap, but at 401 FSB, the northbridge will use the 466 strap, which has greater latency, and that mere several mhz from increasing the FSB does not compensate for it.

Is this true on Gigabyte p45 series boards?

    All except a 466 Strap.

There is only 200, 266, 333, and 400 strap options on all boards for the moment.

Here is how straps work, same on ALL Boards from any maker. You can however set the Strap setting above or below your FSB if you tweak things right
