    Default EP45-DS3L and G.Skill DDR2 1000

Hello, I'm sort of new to using Gigabyte boards and was simply wondering if I could get any help getting optimal performance out of my memory. I'm using a Q6600 G0 along with this set of G.Skill RAM

    Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory
(apparently it went up 50 bucks over the time I bought them)

I use this machine for games as well as a workstation for college. I do a lot of work in High Performance Computing with OpenMP and starting to look into Brook with my HD4850. So stability is important. I have no intentions of OC'ing but rather trying to get some solid timings.

I'm seeing a lot of people posting Templates to get assistance so here it is:

    Default Re: EP45-DS3L and G.Skill DDR2 1000

$50 more? I see price as $67, what did you pay for them? Just wondered why you said that, unless you mean the original price. Yeah, they often change many prices at the Egg.

So are you stable with the above and just want to tweak things a bit for best performance? If so then try these settings >>>

    MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)
    Robust Graphics Booster ...............: [Auto]
    CPU Clock Ratio ..........................: 9x
    CPU Frequency ...........................: 2.4Ghz

    Clock Chip Control
    Standard Clock Control
CPU Host Clock Control..................: [disabled] << may need to be enabled to set MCH latch below, Not sure even at stock I always enable mine

CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ............: 266MHz
    PCI Express Frequency (Mhz) .........:100MHz
    C.I.A.2 .................................:[Disabled]

    Advanced Clock Control
    CPU Clock Drive...........................: 800mV
    PCI Express Clock Drive.................: 800mV
    CPU Clock Skew (ps)....................: 50ps
    MCH Clock Skew (ps)...................: 50-100ps

    DRAM Performance Control
    Performance Enhance...................: [STANDARD]
    Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.).....: Disabled
(G)MCH Frequency Latch...............: [266] << Set to 266, but please try 333 first. And this setting should be changed alone. So change your voltages below, then reboot. Then change this only, then reboot. Then set Static tRead Value to 7-8 only and reboot. Then you can enter the rest all at once
System Memory Multiplier ..............: [4.00] B or C depending on what you get to work above

    Memory Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 1066MHz

    DRAM Timing Selectable ................: [Manual]

    Standard Timing Control
    CAS Latency Time........................5
    tRCD .........................................5
    tRP'...........................................5
    tRAS..........................................15

These are ranges, set to the highest for each first, then slowly work your way backwards testing with Memtest86+ after each move

    Advanced Timing Control
    tRRD............................3............... 3-4
tWTR.............................3............. 3-6 (Likely May need 8-12 first time around, set to 12 first)

    tWR...............................6............. 4-6 (Same as above, but 8-14)
tRFC..............................52.............4 8-50 (52-62) You can likely use 54 or so to start
    tRTP...............................3............ 2 (3-6)
    Command Rate (CMD) .....0...............:2

Channel A & B should match below. You can/should also choose 1066 driving strength profile

    Channel A
Static tRead Value..............5...........: 7-10 (Start with 8 and then later see if 7 will work)
    tRD Phase0 Adjustment.......0............:Auto
    tRD Phase1 Adjustment.......0............:Auto
    tRD Phase2 Adjustment ......0..........:Auto
    tRD Phase3 Adjustment.......0.........:Auto
    Trd2rd(Different Rank).........6...........:Auto
    Twr2wr(Different Rank)........6...........:Auto
    Twr2rd(Different Rank).........5..........:Auto
    Trd2wr(Same/Diff Rank)........8..........:Auto
    Dimm1 Clock Skew Control...............:Auto
    Dimm2 Clock Skew Control...............:Auto
    DDR Write Training ..........................:Auto

    Channel B
Static tRead Value...............6..........: 7-10 (Start with 8 and then later see if 7 will work)
    tRD Phase0 Adjustment........1...........:Auto
    tRD Phase1 Adjustment........0...........:Auto
    tRD Phase2 Adjustment .......0..........:Auto
    tRD Phase3 Adjustment........0..........:Auto
    Trd2rd(Different Rank)..........6..........:Auto
    Twr2wr(Different Rank).........6..........:Auto
    Twr2rd(Different Rank).........5..........:Auto
    Trd2wr(Same/Diff Rank)........8..........:Auto
    Dimm1 Clock Skew Control...............:Auto
    Dimm2 Clock Skew Control...............:Auto
    DDR Write Training...........................: Auto

    Motherboard Voltage Control
    CPU
    CPU Vcore….………........1.28750V.....: Auto
    CPU Termination…..... 1.200V..........: Auto
    CPU PLL…………………....1.550V.......: Auto
    CPU Reference.…………....0.805V........: Auto

    MCH/ICH
MCH Core…………….....1.100V...........:1.25-1.3 << Needed for stable 2x2 Ram
    MCH Reference….…….0.760V...........:Auto
    ICH I/O……………….....1.550V............:Auto
    ICH Core…………...……1.100V............:Auto

    DRAM
DRAM Voltage ……....1.800V............:2.0-2.1 (Likely 2.1 since I changed your ram to 1066 since you was running 800)

    Advanced Settings
Limit CPUID Max. to 3.....................: [Disabled]
    No-Execute Memory Protect............: [Enabled]
    CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E)................: [Enabled]
CPU Thermal Monitor 2(TM2) ...........: [Enabled]
    CPU EIST Function.........................: [Enabled]
    Virtualization Technology................: [Disabled]
