I have Java installed and enabled, and I meet the system Prerequisites, maybe I am just overlooking a driver or something I need. This is a clean install, so I will have a shot at it again tonight

So, I even installed the whole 40MB package of all the smaller apps "Get the JDK Download" at the top of this page >>>
    Java SE Downloads

And still get the same error, seems like something on my end it not letting me download the needed files to bring up the tester. I tried in IE and firefox, and even with all cookies and security settings on lowest they can go. No luck?

Maybe my satellite? Ill try it on dial up tomorrow

    Hi!

Sorry for not coming sooner back to this, have been waiting for a new board and got a replacement as an EP35-DS4 rev. 2.1 that i havenīt yet put into work but will soon do that. Still fixing a new waterblock for it (the previous one that had a plexi-top got "a little too much bristled" after me trying to modify that plexi for a different kind of tube connectors, hahhahahaaa! It had had a bit too much heat at some point during itīs use and got weak, i guess.. :) and thatīs taking some time more.. i guess iīll try Solaris on this board but without the IDE, just SATA devices for me now on.

Thatīs funny thing that you didnīt get that small test program to work for you at all?? Well, iīll come to that later on again when iīm all up and running!

I might be upgrading my memory soon to some Mushkin, maybe even to 8GB straight
away so whatīs your best bet for that on this new board?

WOW, sorry I forgot about this as well. I do have server downloaded but not installed or anything yet. Forgot all about it being on my hard drive.

Ya, I have no idea what that is about why I cannot run that test??? Maybe the satellite I am on, not sure? But it looks like something is stopping me from downloading a additional file from the errors shown

I still have my DS4 2.1! If you got the cash the Black Mushkins are great, any would do for 8GB. If you are in the US here 996580's are on super sale >>>

Great luck for me, that I found this thread.

Dosign, I have exact the same problem with Mainboard EP35-DS3P rev 2.1 and G.Skill-Ram "F2-6400CL4D-1GBPK".

Did your problem still exist? I tested many Bios-Configurations and nothing fixed the problem. Later I'll try the settings from Lsdmeasap and play a little bit with voltages.

If I run the ram in single channel, there's no problem. You could test it, if you install your ram not in bank 1 & 3. Install it in bank 1 & 2, then it runs in single channel. It is slow but stable.

Try MCH Voltage +0.25-.3 for 4x1GB and your ram at 2.1. Refresh to act delay on 62 for now and static Tread on 10 for now as well.

    Hi!

So now iīve got a Server 2008 Standard 64-bit running with D 940 and G.Skill memory, though have already bought E8500 and 2X2GB Mushkin Red Line and those are just waiting to get installed as soon as i get a new graphicscard too.

This new board is not giving me any problems except in the beginning when it refused to boot at all and i almost freaked out. That was USB connected issue ie. with my external DVD-player it wouldnīt boot but after a few times of trying itīs now booting with it too. I think it was because the BIOS needed to "get levelled" first with the changes that i made in it for example with all the USB settings before i could use the functions fully. Not a new issue for me.

1 thing: Iīm not having EIST or other power savings in my(self with no problems) flashed 6a BIOS which makes me a bit wondering since my D 940 supports that. Howīs that possible?

No, Pentium D does not support those features is why. Nice to hear you are all up and running smoothly!
