Default My first thread! Stability with EP45-DS3R & Apacer

    Hi All,

this is my first threads in the TweakTown Forum!
Although I've been reading your post about Gigabyte mainboards for months,
now it's time to ask for your help.
Today, after day and day of brainstorming I bought an EP45-DS3R
    with 2x2GB Apacer PC6400
Apacer | Products | DRAM Modules | Desktop Memory | DDR2-800 Unbuffered DIMM with Heatspreader
Well, tomorrow I'll starting building my new PC. I am skilled enough in
either hardware & pc assembly or compatibility issue, but not as some
of you in memory timings setting.
For this PC (it's for my job, up & running all day!) I'm looking for no
    stability problems, crashes, bsod, etc...
I'll starting with update bios to F10 (because I need S3 standby)
leaving then all settings to DEFAULT or AUTO.
Before testing with memtest I'd like to know how set my memory
parameters to get a rock-solid PC.
I'm not interested in overclocking, I'll keep C1E / SpeedStep ENABLED!
    Here my components:

    C2D E8400, E-0 stepping (VID 1.26V Max)
GA-EP45-DS3R (will be update to F10 bios)
    2x2GB Apacer, CAS 5, 800MHz, 1.8V
    HIS HD4670 512MB DDR3, Pci-Ex
    WD RE3 3202ABYS, S-Ata2
    LG DVD-RW S-Ata
    Enermax EPR425AWT

Thanks to all who will be so kind to help me
    (anyone said Lsdmeasap???)
Sorry for the lenght of this post and for my bad english!

    Thanks to all

    DIEGO

You really shouldn't have to change too much to get a stable system with stock FSB, etc. But i'll recommend some settings to get your 2x2GB stable

Looks good, you may need things a bit more loose in the advanced settings to get your initial boot though

Good luck, let us know when you get all built!

Also, if you are not going to overclock your CPU and use ESIT and C1E, then you can just leave CPU vcore on Auto

    Hi all,
I'm started building new computer...only cpu+ram+psu+mb+vga for the moment...
I've tested with 4-pass memtest86+ each memory modules with default setting
(no errors!) now I'm testing 2x2GB with the settings you gave me. The system
seems to perform well, if no errors will happen in the following hours I'll try during
the night with the default settings and EIST / speedstep enabled.
Thank a lot, for the moment!
    Bye

Hi all, my brand new pc is now working fine (thanks to your usefull help!).
I have tested it for a week using windows XP, and now I have installed
windows Vista SP1 (X86, for the moment...) and all drivers update.
No issues or stabilty problems, but in Event Viewer - System I have a lot
    of the following errors:

Hmm, can you please translate that to english for me, I would but I am not sure what language it is. And also please post a image as well if you can, if not let me know and I will tell you how. I would like the image to be sure of the code part at the end, Just want to see the numbers exactly how they are printed

    Translated from Italian to English:
Description: The energy saving functions for inactivity on processor 1 are disabled for a problem of firmware. In order to obtain updated firmware, ask to the computer vendor.

Here you can find screenshot of event viewer:

    Thanks a lot!

Do you have DES installed, or C1E and EIST enabled in the BIOS, sounds like that is what it is talking about. If so, disable those settings, or do not use DES (If you want to let me know, and I will try to help you get this corrected)

You do have the latest Intel Chipset driver package installed right? If not, please install it >>>
