    Default Help with Ram Timings!

    Hello!
Can you assist me please and tell me what I can set my ram timings under Advanced Timing Control Lcdmeasap ?

I know we have talked about the timings before but the damn bios dont show what auto should be, tha values shows up as 3 and all values cant be like that. the only value I have set my self is as we speaked about the trfc witch I have the luck to get stable at 46 :)

Memset shows different values as we know then bios but some are e.x + 7 as shown in your mem guide, but I want to know exactly what I should set it at and then try to tweak em from there so please take a look if you can help me!

My settings now are with my Q6600 and OCZ PC2 6400 800Mhz Reaper 2*2GB on P45-DS3R!

try the looser end of the scale first. then change the values one at a time and test for errors using MemTest 86+ (Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool) between each change... tighten them until you start getting errors

EDIT: also, you can probably lower the voltage on your CPU as well... just a suggestion

    Hello!

    Thanks for the reply BongWizard!

As you can se my Standard Timing Control is at 4-4-4-12 and my Static tread (trd) is at 8, any lower then that will freze my comp but 8 is good as bios auto set it at 15 and that is crappola shesh :-/

I just wondering what bios set Advanced Timing Controlt as it wont report it. I think it kind of crappy that it dont report the real values. I know I can try the settings you posted but it would be great to know, just for fun what it's set at as a basline!

Yeah about the V-core my CPU will have this high or else it's not stable im afraid as I have tested with lower voltage and then Prime/OCCT will fail.
But thanks anyway I appriciated you pointed it out :)

BTW my Q6600 is G0 Stepping!

To see what Auto is giving you for advanced settings please see this guide and download Memset >>>
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/memo...vs-bios-27283/

Memset will show you in windows, what Auto settings in the BIOS are actually giving you, as would everest Ultimate if you have that

    Thanks Lsdmeasup!
Yeah you are right, WFT am I thinking of I must be hmm crappy in my head sometimes sorry LOL!

I have Memset as we speaked about the timings in my other thread and of course its as you say..dont know what I was thinking. But some values dont show up in bios strangely but maybe thats how it's is with some beta bios ?

Well memset does show you some settings you cannot change on Gigabyte boards, nothing to do with your Beta.

Okey I see so the only values that matter is the one I can see in Bios and as you know we have these on the P-45,

    trrd
    twtr
    twr
    trfc
    trtp
    CMD

So If I set for e.x Write to Precharge Delayed in Memset it wont have any effect as I dont have/see it in Bios ?
Oops update, I see that it's actualy in bios as it's called twr.

In my other thread you said that I can try one maybe two less in bios,
in Memset it show up as 14 and as we know its -5 in bios and that gives a value of 9 then and you think 7 and no less. but in your Memory Timings Guide you suggest a value of 3 - 5 so maybe you was thinking of some other timing when you suggested me 7 or 8 ?

The only timings that matters is the one who shows up in bios I presume.

No, write to precharge delay is in your BIOS, it is twr. Please see here if you have not already >>>

Ohh, sorry I see you noticed that. I think I need to update that image a bit to make it more clear.

Yes, BIOS settings is all that matters. Now what I suggested to you somewhere else may have been for a reason such as you were having issues, or using alot of ram, ect/

You can test/bench anything you want, and use it if it is stable. And yes 3-6 would be optimal for that setting

Yepp you can see what's my setting is now and I feel great to have it at 3.4Ghz so that will do and now I can tweak the timings a little and then im all set :)

Will try out 3 with twr so heres hoping and thank once again and good luck with your new P-45 Lsdmeasap :)
