I's gonna be dropped of at my office in a couple hours.

After waiting practically a month, I'll be pretty upset if this thing is DOA/faulty. I've never had bad luck with components. Wait.. I did have a 7900GT that kept freezing on 3D mark. But that s about it. LOL.

    That an e5200..

Sorry about the delay in posting back.. Believe it or not I haven't put it together yet. Flu got to me.

Was feeling better yesterday but didn't have any thermal paste. Getting a tube of AS5 borrowed after work today from friend.

Yesterday however I seated the CPU , video card and one stick of RAM just to make sure things were working. ( Didn even add heatsink.. i know, i know! >_> )

I don't know if my eyes were playing tricks on me but my PSU fan seemed to be spinning slower, as did my video card fan. It was also SOUNDING like the pc was restarting when I put it on. But the light on the keyboard only blinked once...

Another small thing that worried me was the POST screen..

I see this .. http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/9085/dscf1973ts0.jpg ( picture from google images ) when I believe I'm supposed to be seeing something like this... http://www.pcbuyerbeware.co.uk/BIOSP42800.gif (another google image)

    Whats up with that?

On the positive side, the mobo or CPU is not DOA. :) CPU temps reached 72 degrees celcius with no heatsink and it was not on for long at all. Burned my finger a little too :(

Ahh, sorry to hear buddy! Hope you get over that easy!

    Have ya some chicken soup

OUCH! You should have AT LEAST put the heatsink on there without paste!

Well that first image is after the second image, and just means no OS drive was found yet, since you have not installed it. And you likely wont see the first image either until you disable Full Screen Logo if you want as the default is a large Full screen gigabyte colored image instead of the post screen which you linked second. But yeah, both images are normal, except that last one is only normal if no OS is found

Here is what my EP45-DS4P boot screen is, I think yours is something greenish but I cant find a image of it anywhere >>>

Here is what I used in my old P35 board, hated the original one so I made that one >>>

Maybe yours is kinda like this >>>
