    I haven't tested setting the MCH to 333, again, yet. I won't be able to do this until Sunday. I am leaving town.

    I do remember the last time I did I could boot through with a Driving Strength profile of 800, but not 1066. Also, I had to change the Memory Multiplier to 2.00B as 2.00D was no longer a option at 333. I'm not sure if that was the correct choice.

    I seem more stable at 800 versus 1066 in this setting too. I guess my ram/mobo doesn't like 1066?

    Ya Memory Multipliers with D are for 400 MCH only, B for 333 MCH only. 400 MCH will be more stable, 333 perform better but be less stable. If you can boot with 333 it is better, but you may or may not be able to. And to use 1066 Profile you may need to be on the 400MCH strap

    You can do 1066 speed for sure, you just have to get the timings/voltages right. If you think you are going to run 850Mhz and keep that you can lower the main timings for sure, and static tread. Here is what you may be able to use with the above >>>>

    What do you think? Anything I can enhance / tighten?

    Also, I did a few minutes of testing with MCH 333, but I figured I'd wait for your advice rather than get extremely frustrated.

    What I found out was that 1066 would not boot at all, as usual. And the only way to boot at MCH 333 with Memory Mult at 2.00B and 800 driving strength profile was to keep static tread at 11. The motherboard had 7 in the left hand column for the static tread value, but when ever I tried that or 9 it would just drop dead.

    On second thought, maybe not. It is failing 45 minutes into Orthos with 1066. Maybe, I should just tighten the timings on 800 driving strength.

    Did you try adding some mch skew? It may help

    As for 333, you should be able to use a lower static Tread for sure. But get the MCH changed to 333 first and then reboot back to lower static tread.

    And maybe less MCH voltage, more ram would help

    I'm still trying to test the 333 MCH latch. It will not boot through with a static Tread below 10. I have set the mch skew to 150 and I am using a driving strength profile of 800. Everything else is the same settings as my most recent post. It seems stable thus far, but no matter what I change it just won't take a static Tread lower than 10

    Gah, this is starting to get frustrating.

    I can get the pc to boot using a mtch latch of 333, but I have to keep my static Tread at 11. I have tried adjusting voltages, adding cpu skew, mch skew, changing the cmd rate, upping the tRFC to 75, all alone and in different combinations. It just won't take a lower Static Tread of 10, but it will only be stable at 11.

    So, I moved onto some other settings. Until I received your opinion, since we post at different times in the day. I thought I had it down with your suggested settings for 850 on ram, but alas I failed 2 hrs 30 min into orthos. Any insight?

    Static Tread has been a thorn in my side on every setting. Do you have any insight into why it's causing me such a head ache? The lowest I can take it is 10 and then I will fail any test about 45 minutes in.

    With the settings above, I couldn't boot through with a CAS Latency of 4, but the others stuck just fine.

    Despite me failing Orthos, I was running a few applications and such with those settings above it seemed they did wonders for my performance. Maybe about 10 - 20 percent better?

    When I failed Orthos and went to restart, I also received a blue screen. Do I need to lower tRCD, tRP' and tRAS and do Memtest? I probably should of.

    I would love to get this all behind me, and be finished but I just have to keep telling myself it is worth it and I am almost there, I hope .

    Ok I ran Memtest on tests 5 and 7 for each of these settings:

    Standard Timing Control
    CAS Latency Time........................ 5
    tRCD ......................................... 4
    tRP'........................................... 4
    tRAS.......................................... 12

    I changed TRCD tested, tRP, tested, tRAS tested. Finally, I ran both 5 and 7 one extra time to make sure, and then I ran it for about an hour on the regular tests with no errors.

    I also raised the tRFC to 65, and mch clock skew to 200. I will test with Orthos tomorrow morning or after you have a chance to get back with me with your input on my previous posts.

    I always feel more comfortable with your input as I'm still learning !

    Sounds like you need more voltage. 2 hours is a good run for it to likely not be a ram issue

    Use 400 MCH latch and see if you can then go below 10/11 Static Tread. It is really the ram quality that decides this but most any should be able to run 7-9 on 333

    You should also see if less MCH voltage helps as that may be too much. And I keep hearing stock may even work on some board so try that as well

    You could also try this and see if it works/helps. As you know, many days can be put into testing before you find a good stable point... But then you will want to improve it so it never ends sometimes >>>
