    Default Gigabyte EP45-UD3P + E8400 Overclocking

    Hi.,i'm new in this OC world and still learning how to get stable OC.,i already bought newly Gigabyte EP45-UD3P mainboard to OC.,but i can't get to 500FSB.,if i set it to 500FSB my system keep re-booting.,last time when i use Gigabyte EP35-DS3P i can reach 4.25Ghz..but now cannot.,do i need to re-setting th BIOS..your reply is kindly appreciatetd..TQ

    No, and I advise you do not with 45Nm CPU. Set CPU voltage to around what you used to use plus .6 or so

    And of course check the difference between what you set in the BIOS and what you get in windows with CPU-z to be sure, and then adjust accordingly to what you used to use

    ok.,can i know what you mean check the difference setting in bios and in windows..is that for the CPU voltage?can i check the difference using easy tune 6..?and.,can i know what is the C2/C2E & C4/C4E state support?tq

    Ya, I meant to check with CPU-z the voltage difference from what you set in the BIOS to what you actually get in windows. Ya, you could use Easytune as well if you like.

    C2/C2E ect are processor phase power/sleep states. Power Saving features. Here is a page about them all >>>

    Hi bro.,good morning.,sorry if i disturb you.,i already try the setting you gave me yesterday.,the highest i can go with that setting is 3.60ghz only.,thats mean 400x9.,when i try to boot with 450x9 my system cannot boot at all.,i try to chane the setting you gave me also cannot..this is the setting that you gave me yesterday..

    What vcore did you try up to in the BIOS? You may need to set 1.38 or more in the BIOS to boot 4Ghz

    i only set to 1.30-1.35v in bios..why should is set the bios to 1.38 bro.,because last time i only set to 1.30v only..tq

    1.3 in the BIOS is likely only 1.24 is why I suggested you try 1.38 or so. What do you mean 1.30 last time? In your other board before with this CPU? If so then you need 1.36 or so in this board if 1.30 was ok for you in a different board.

    What you should do as well is check to see how much vdrop you do have. See the difference between what you set in the BIOS and how much that actually gives you in windows with CPU-z
