    Question EP45-DS4 + Q6600 Overclocking, please help...

    Hello everyone,

    This is my first time to buy gigabyte motherboard. Recently everything is fine without overclocking it, but now i want to overclock my CPU. When I try to do it but in BIOS there are lots of options in M.I.T. Actually I don't have much knowledge about overclocking. I Just wanna to overclock my Q6600 to 3.3Ghz(366X9) or 3.6Ghz(400X9). So can anyone help me to set the options in M.I.T.


    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4
    CPU: Intel Q6600
    RAM: Kington HyperX DDR2 1066 2G X 2 (total 4G) CL5-5-5-15 2.2V
    PSU: CoolerMaster 650W
    Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper Z600
    VGA: PowerColor ATI4870 512M GDDR5

Then lower until it wont boot and then go back up a notch or two.  Also, do check with CPU-z what your actual voltage is from what you set in the BIOS to what you get in windows, and keep that in mind when adjusting.  Most P45 boards this difference is about .6
    
    So maybe 1.45 or so for a actual voltage of 1.39 or so for 3.3.  All up to your chip, you will have to see what you can use.

    Hi guys,

    I'm new to the forum and new to overclocking. I just recently bought myself a brand spanking new set up with overclocking in mind and after fiddling with the BIOS a little on my Gigabyte board, I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to get the best out of my set up; I wonder if someone can help?

    Here's what I've got:

    Mobo: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4 (v1.0, F9 BIOS)
    CPU: Intel Q6600, Kentsfield Core, 65nm, B stepping, revision G0.
    RAM: 4GB (2x2GB) OCZ Reaper DDR2 pc-6400 (800Mhz, CL4.4.4.15 @ 2.1v)
    GFX: Gigabyte Nvidia 8800GT OC (GV-NX88T512HP rev: 1.0) 512MB

    I'm currently running stock cooling, but will be upgrading to something with a little more umpf. Ideally, I'd like to squeeze 3.2Ghz out of my processor as I've heard this is possible, but perhaps until I get some better cooling, just 3Ghz would be a start?

    If anyone can help with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there,

    I've tried the method below. Boot up fine, runs Vista 64bit fine until i run OCCT program... it blue-screen and it said something like... A Clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval.

    Can you help me out to fine tune the settings? I'm using the 3.3Ghz version.

    RAM: G.Skills 4x2GB 1066-PI DDR2
    PSU: Corsair TX650

    Set MCH Skew to Zero first.

    Then set MCH Freq Latch to Auto. There is no 2.40 memory multiplier on the 400 MCH Latch, so you have one or the other noted wrong in your settings listed above.

    I need you to clarify what you are using before I can advise more really. Normally the error you mention is voltages though, so you may need more Vcore, Vtt, or MCH (With 8GB you may need 1.26-1.32+ MCH). Your Vtt does look a bit low as well

    No this won't do, must set it manually, what Lsdmeasap meant that 2.40B is not possible with MCH Latch 400, either the multiplier or latch were misstyped?
    Set the multiplier to close or less memory spec frequency using B or D miltiplier.
