    hey dude


    MCH Frequency Latch on Auto with 3.2b resulted in memtest getting about 5% in and then the computer would restart... i let it restart twice before trying different settings

    400mhz with 3.33d... came up with a heap of errors and
    when i went back into my bios it said

    the system has experienced boot failures because of overclacking or changes of voltages
    last seetings in this page may not coincide with current H/W states


    any ideas?

    Try Auto with 3.33D

    You may need to Use CAS 6 for 8GB at that high speed! Maybe 655-18 or 666-18

    hey LSD

    i'm not sure what to change the CPU termination and PLL to .. you suggested changing them to stock.. but i have no idea what the stock settings would be so i left them as auto?

    ok so i've just gotten a Memtest failure and reboot using
    MCH FREQ Latch [Auto]
    System memory multiplier [3.33d] (1111Mhz)

    Cas Latency time [6]
    Trcd [5]
    trp[5]
    tras [18]

    and another one using

    666-18

    memtest has stop 47% though test 2

    "unexpected interrupt - halting

    then a whole bunch of number highlighted red

    any ideas?

    PLL set to what you see for stock 1.5

    vtt (Termination) all depends on your overclock, since I think you are still at stock just set it to stock

    8GB may just not run that fast, what MCH voltage are you using. Try using a lower speed like 2.66D for 885, then if you want faster ram you will need to raise your FSB

    i don't get it aye.... why do they say it will support up to 16gb 1200/1066etc when it wont??!?!? sorry dude... its just frustrating becuase the people at the shop i asked if it would and they said yes... but now i'm thinking they weren't telling me the truth..

    would i be better getting a different brand of ram?

    Try this and use the D multi

    Mch core.....1.100v.. [1.350V]

    ich i/o ,,, 1.5... 1.55-1.6

    No, different ram may not help but it could I suppose. As I do not see many people use that so I am not so sure how good it is.

    What I do suggest is you overclock so you can use the D strap easier to get your ram at rated speed. Like 420 FSB with 2.66D memory multi

    hey lsd i did what you said with a 420 FSB and 2.66D
    and the computer hated it... restarted afew time and then started beeping continuiously..
    then when the computer finally rebooted i got a black screen with aa grey box saying i had a cmos error and so i selected the "last good settings known" option

    i did notice that my cpu was overclock to about 3.8mhz

    should i lower the cpu multi?
    get it running closer to its stock..

    also what driving strength profile should i be looking at for this set up?
    it doesn't seem to like going over 800mhz.

    .. the only other idea i had is getting a different motherboard for the ram... i spent more on the ram than i did on the motherboard...

    then again.. you've helped alot of people do you know any Moboard and Ram set ups that has worked with 8gb of ram?

    Well I would need to see your exact full settings you tried with that 420 FSB to be able to tell you why maybe it failed for you.

    Driving strength you should use your ram speed you are running or one above if your timings are ok it will boot fine

    Your board will run all 8GB just fine, you just have to get things set right. Please post for me what you are using now, or what failed for you and I will advise you again

Are you using the latest BIOS and if so did you load and apply optimized defaults and save/reboot after you flashed?
