Well more FSB would equal more ram speed once you increase the FSB more. Or you could drop your CPU multi and then up FSB more or less to get at your ram speed better

Ya, you do have to keep a eye on your voltages and you likely do need more for that FSB

Shzt! Sorry, I forgot to link you to the USB Memtest info. Please do read again what I said in post 49 and then here is how to burn a Memtest86+ USB (you will need the USB version posted on that thread as well, not the ISO you have now) >>>

Well my friend i did get memtest86 to run on the usb drive, thanks to you but it failed every test, so i guess my settings are no good. I have gone back to your 401 fsb settings, and its passes super pi 32m prime 95, im going now to run memory test. I guess my question is do you think you can get me to 450 fsb ? based on whats happining im begining to wonder if its possibale, i will post my settings to you, and you give me what you think will work, and i will try it. I will post settings and results of memtest86 at your settings tonight, thanks for your paticence with me.

Update i have made some changes in my bios , tell me what you think, i did get higher fsb, but lower memory speed, i now see i cant have both, to a degree. One my current settings passed all memtest86, prime 95, so is very stable. I do need to tighten up my sub timings a bit. No here is what i would like to try to achieve if possiable. I want to add about 25 mghz to my fsb if possiable, that will increase my memory speed, and get me to where i would like to be.

The current setting if i raise the fsb 2 mghz it wont boot, very touchy i would say , now you being the gigabyte master guru , i hope you look over my settings and give me some suggestion for changes. The way i see it i paid good money for these 1300 sticks, and to run them at 1200 is pointless, there are sticks that cost half as much that will do 1200, so im hoping to get half way to 1300 , like 1250 with a good fsb, guess i have to be happy and move on. Thanks for your dedication to helping people like me, dont know what i would do with this forum and you.

One other quesion, in memtest86 when you choose configure at the bottom of the screen and you get that menu with like 9 itmes, how do u choose those items ???? i couldnt figure it out. Here is my current settings.

Memtest you do not need to change anything in configuration. Unless you want to run single tests, which is outlined here on how to do that (See post #2) >>>

Hey buddy sorry to bother you more, but i have run into a problem, maybe you can tell me how to fix it. I have got where i wanted to be, even further after playing around more. My current settings pass super pi 32m prime 95, but on test 5 of memtest86 is riddled with errors, thousands of them, dont know why. I did have slightly lower settings before and it passed no problem, then i saved it to the bios, was playing around more, went back to load my saved bios settings, now it wont boot no matter what i do. I started completely over, to the current settings you see here, its pretty smoking fast , but i cant pass memtest86, im able to run a 7 static tread value, and all works fine in window, but the bios is setting to 11, which is way to high kills all your performance, so im at 8 now to see if that would help memtest86, but it did nothing. Im wondering can not enough memory voltage cause errors ? anyway thanks again, keep up the good work, just want to pass memtest and i can close up my case

    Still the same ram?

You should easily be able to add VTT, and you need to. Are you sure you were only trying to change that when you decided you could not?

Try more MCH and trd of 9-10. Also try less MCH and see if that has any effect

Like i said i have been playing with my overclock, this memory can go high or low, i had 1125 4-4-4-12 not bad. I guess i need to read more in the area where it talks about timinings and memory, i guess the higher the speed the higher the static tread value. I will try your suggestions and see what happens. What really baffles me is i had this same exact setting saved in my bios, it passed memtest86 , super pi, prime 95, next day it wont boot , and i kept trying to use the saved bios, just wont boot, so i raised the trd and got it to boot, but now im getting 50 million errors in memtest, and prime 95 says on test 4 hardware failure, which i dont like the sound of that, will post later and see if your suggestions help, thanks a million again.
