    Lsdmeasap,

I ran DPC Latency Checker on a clean install, i.e. just after I log in to Windows for the first time and closing that Welcome window.
Still red and yellow bars all over.
    I'm depressed...

    svcglobal,

I need the latency low for real-time audio recording. Playback is not too much of a problem, other than the frustrating need to reset my audio interface every now and then.

Yes, I know and I am suffering with same issue. I must register precisely audio and video from macro camera over car's engine cam valve...
So, since my data input is not CPU intensive, our solution was busy enough the CPU with Prime95. Crazy solution for a crazy problem...

Anyway, just for the records, did you tested our solution? Was the result the same we got but with different MB? Thanks.

I didn't test it using Prime95, but generally you are right. I observed that when the CPU is busy, the latencies are lower. Not always green bars, but generally lower. When the CPU is idle, the bars are predominantly red.

Well, thanks for the info. In my case and with CPU 100% busy, I got only those very short green bar and still having some processing power to keep synchronized video and audio. Go figure...

Ok I just tested with Prime95 today. Yea, mostly short green bars with regular spikes every 5-6 bars.

Now, I'm really suspecting it's either the motherboard or the graphics card, since this is done on a clean installation with no drivers installed. Or, could it also be the HDD? Unlikely, but I suppose it's still possible?

    That's my suspicion.
When I get some money, I will try an ATI card.

Try to move to Vista 64 bits. Worked for me.

    That didn't work for me...

    Could it be the RAMs??
