Hmm, making these changes did not work. I think I didn't test fully last time, because now I found out both Standy and Hibernate (coming back from these states) will cause the system to freeze up due to accessing anything related to sound settings...I will try Memtest, for now, though.

Yes, please tests you ram as it must be stable for at least 10 full passes

I think I'm going to try running SP2 and not SP3...

I dont think that will matter much, without the correct BIOS settings things are not going to work no matter the System installed

Well, let me know how you get along, and how your ram testing went. If you still have issues, please do post me back the full template of settings you are using so I can advise

Hey - below is all the settings in the BIOS that I see right now. Just looked at the memory voltage and it's below what it should be, at least what the memory indicates it should be running at. If I disable the Azalia Codec, the problems all go away, but this means I will not get sound, unless I go out and get a sound card.

    Thanks,
    - Eli

Hey, guess what, I finally fixed the problem (for now). Hibernate seems to work fine, and so is standby. There is this KB888111 patch for the microsoft UAA that has to be installed. With SP3, it says it does not need to be updated, but that is not the case, it seems that this must be installed. So I followed some directions here (ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Forum- WIN XP SP3 Sound problem) to change and trick WinXP to thinking it is on SP2 and installed the patch (did the uninstall Realtek drivers and reinstall, too), and the patch installed fine, and everything seems to work now. :)

I would also advise you set your ram voltage manually to 2.0-2.1/ Nice to see you fixed your sound!!!

And thanks for posting the "How To" incase someone else looks the issue up later!
