    Default Overclocking on EP45-DS3P

    Hi

    I've came here before asking for help about getting a stable overclock that will work with S3 State (Sleep Mode) and had no luck. I really thought it was my RAM limitting me so I decided to go out and buy some new RAM. I bought the new G.Skill 4GB (2 x 2048mb) DDR2 1100 (PC8800 - F2-8800CL5D-4GBPI) thinking it would help but I got the exact same result (Well, I'm able to clock the RAM speeds much higher but unable to improve on CPU clock speeds and maintain stable Sleep Mode)

    I've done countless benchmarking with memtest86+, Orthos, Prime 95, Intel Burn Test, OCCT and I can get 100% stable CPU clock speeds of 4085MHz and my memory can be overclocked to around 1150MHz (have tried pushing it to 1200MHz but it wouldn't boot but I never really tried altering the settings). But for some reason S3 State (Sleep mode) still won't work for me. The best overclock I've achieved so far is 3990MHz with perfectly stable S3 State (Sleep Mode).

    I have tried higher overclocks and Sleep Mode would be random. For example it may work the 1st or 2nd time but not the 3rd or 4th etc etc. I don't understand why this is happening.

    Is there any set date of the next BIOS release as I kinda do rely on Sleep Mode a lot and I hate having to have my CPU running at 3990 MHZ as I want to be able to run it at it's full potential. And I don't want to buy a new motherboard as I just spent a fair amount on buying these new RAM modules and I would like to spend my money elsewhere, especially now that hardware prices where I live are increasing by over 25%.

    Well then use 3.99 there is not going to be a huge difference between them.

    Not to sound like I dont care or anything, but that is a minimal difference.

    What MCH voltage, vtt, and ICH I/O and ICH core are you using?

    Yea your right I know there is very little difference but it is kinda annoying as I want to be able to break the 4GHz barrier and I'm a louzy 10MHz off. Even if it's exactly 4GHz (8x500 but this motherboard doesn't like 500FSB seems to top out at something like 460-470). Also I'm BARELY able to get a 5.9 Vista rating for my CPU. Pretty much anything unders 3900MHz and it's a 5.8. I guess I just have an addiction for high scores.

    MCH is at 1.3V and cannot remember what volts I'm using for the others you mentioned. I will go and check. But even when I put to much voltage (not enough to kill any components) I still can't get it stable.

    Have you tried 444x9 out yet? Well if you are using the voltage in your sig, that in itself may be your issue at 4Ghz.

    You did load optimized and save/apply after you flashed to the S3 BIOS fix right?
