Hi stasio I have been using Z68AP-D3 (Rev.2.0) - Ua9-mod -(modded,to be flash on Rev.1.0 only....not for Rev.2.0) with an amd card until now. After upgrading to a gigabyte gtx 1070, it gets stuck at American Megatrends. Tried DVI AND HDMI. I can use keyboard only to alt-ctrl-del and toggle numlock. However if I remove the card, I can boot successfully from onboard hdmi.

I have tried resetting bios, unplugging every single cable except keyboard, removing add-on cards, and disconnecting all but main drive. Also I sold the amd card : /

Any suggestions? Should I go back to latest gigabyte's official bios?

    Nice to meet you, everyone!

This is my first time making a new post in the TweakTown forums and I want to share my concern about the GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5.

Last week, I upgraded to the new motherboard for the Intel Core i5-5675c Broadwell processor and hoping that it turns out well for me after reading many negative reviews of the same model. After spending everyday tweaking the CPU and memory in the bios, I realized that the microcode wasn't updated yet. It shows the Microcode 10 instead Microcode 13 which includes fixes to the BSOD issues with certain applications/games. Will there a bios that include the latest Broadwell microcode and maybe newer ME firmware?

While on bios "Z68AP-D3 (Rev.2.0) - Ua9-mod -(modded,to be flash on Rev.1.0 only....not for Rev.2.0)", I fixed it by changing "Other PCI Device ROM Priority" to "Legacy only" as mentioned by dokii here (thanks to him) Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 bios problem

I updated to the BIOS posted above from qflash and the nvidia card boots without having to set "Other PCI Device ROM Priority" to "Legacy only". Thank you so very much, stasio!

    stasio,

Thank you for showing me your screenshot of Z97MXGAMING5.F7c. It is a relief to see that there are still some support for this model along the 55-series to 97-series motherboards and I thought GIGABYTE already abandoned them for the 100-series/upcoming 200-series motherboards. Which one is the most foolproof way to flash the bios?

    sfuma,

It is disappointing to hear that. ASUS and MSI seems to be the only ones who gives more attention to the motherboards that supports Broadwell CPUs. I don't want to speak ill of GIGABYTE in this thread because there are several good people in GIGABYTE who are willing to help you out. At least it is better than ASUS. The closest GIGABYTE representative in this thread is stasio. (stasio, sorry if it is not okay to put your name in this post.)

    UPDATE:
I already flashed the GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5 to F7c through the efiflash tool in my USB drive. I confirm it's working as the BIOS is updated with the Broadwell microcode 13 and there is a huge boost in CPU and memory overclocking performance. I have several games and benchmarks to try out and see there's any improvement in gaming performance.

first review on this site also says he has issues with his led strip.. which i guess is caused by the leds being uncalibrated wrong because of the hardware limitations:
