I have used that bios myself and it was fine, maybe a corrupt download?

Anytime you download a new BIOS that you intend to flash you should download it twice and compare the checksums to minimise the chance of a corrupted download.

I had a corrupt download of BIOS F5 for my GA-Z170-HD3-DDR3 and I didn't find out until after I flashed it, which resulted in a bricked board that had to be recovered with a SPI programmer.

I thought that EZ flash would detect and catch a checksum mismatch if a BIOS file was corrupted but apparently not...

Okay, so: why didn't the Gigabyte "dual bios" feature allow booting from the backup bios?
Note: boot using Ctl + F10 should enable booting from the secondary bios, if the automatic function isn't working for some reason.

A good question - why indeed?

I tried for over half an hour to get the backup BIOS to kick-in but was unable to get the board to do anything except beep five times.

Ctrl+F10 had no effect, even with a PS/2 keyboard (as the USB ports were not even initialising).

    Good afternoon.
    I have a motherboard GA-z170-HD3-DDR3 with bios f5c
    With overclock non-K i5-6400 i have 27x162mhz=4374MHz. Vcore=1.21V.
All stable and cold(50 degrees Celsius with max load CPU)

But there is a bad moment, cold start the computer does not start with 1 times.
It helps: enter the bios & save and exit.
Maybe tell me how to solve this issue.

And tell me please, what bios latest with non K overclock.
    Thanks.

Hi syntezit, what speed is your RAM running at? The motherboard may not be booting if it fails to train the RAM on cold boot.

More vcore may also help - have you tried setting it to 1.30 V to see if the cold boot issue stops?

F5c is the latest BIOS for non-k overclocking on the GA-Z170-HD3-DDR3.

    My ram Crucial CT102464BA160B x 2pts = 16gb
    Work on "
    System Memory Multiplier 10.66" = 1726MHZ perfect.
    I try set multiplier to 8 =1300MHZ -
    no changes.
Try set Vcore up to 1.4V (1.25,1.3,1,325,etc) - no changes.

    !!! Please HELP !!!
Reboot from windows - no problem.

Any update on the GA-Z170X-Gaming 5 bios? Been running beta F6f for ages now. Will a non beta release be available soon? or another beta?
