    I had a similar issue and this helped (assuming your backup BIOS is OK but it just doesn't think it should be recovering)

    anyone know what version of the beta bios let overclocking work? As with f20 thats on gigabytes site it does not. I have also heard the new 7th gen also will not overclock past the stock Intel turbo boost speeds on the z170 boards. I am hoping someone knows as i was hoping to go from my 6600k to 7700k without a new mobo but this new update seems pretty broken.... I have kinda losses my faith in gigabyte especially since i emailed threw the support ticket about this some time ago and they just ignored it.

    Without having the LED debug code from the motherboard it is impossible to know.

    Can you flash back to an earlier BIOS?

    Yep, everything works normally.

    There is also the option to enable/disable speedshift.

    do you know if theres anyway to go from f20 offical one on gigabytes website to f20a that you have? as the one on the website has broke overclocking for me and no overclock numbers above 39 or Intel's turbo boost for the 6600k stick. and if i disable turbo boost it freaks out and droped to 800mhz

    @demon09

    You should be able to do it from a DOS bootable USB stick with Efiflash 062-mod

    [Edit] WARNING! EFIFLASH WILL FLASH YOUR BACKUP BIOS CHIP AS WELL AS THE MAIN BIOS!
