A massive 24 phases Wow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GIGABYTE should make a program like (EVGA has done to exchange with the remaining to pay by the user),I would surely go for UD5.

Agreed, when AHCI is set, it takes a fairly long time to get the OS booted or Bios entered, annoys me a lot, i never set ACHI with F10 Bios before, i'll follow your advice, Thanks.

Kind user Lsdmeasap, helped mod BIOS for GA-EP45-DS3R F10 for newer AHCI Bios V1.20E resulting in shortening of boot times by 12 seconds.

I think the EX58A-UD4 still has 12 phases, but the UD5 and above have the 24 phases! Not to mention all the nice new BIOS features, Tech Report had a mini article on it on June 9th, link here: http://techreport.com/discussions.x/17037

Perhaps a EX58A-UD4P will come out with the 24 phases as well...I would definitely try to upgrade to that if Gigabyte had a program like EVGAs...

    Modded BIOS for GA-EX58-Extreme(UD5) - F8x
(updated the Intel AHCI ROM to 1.20E and Intel RAID ROM to v8.5.0.1030).
    Use at your own risks.
