    Hi Stasio!

I'm a long time fan and I would like to say I really appreciate all your work you have done over the years. I've been looking for your posts about beta bioses since nehalem days.

I realize you are super busy but I just have a quick question - is F7K the last bios version I can use to OC non K on z170x gaming 7?

I've tried F7r and it doesn't work, even though microcode 74 is there. I even moded F22f with UBU to include microcode 74 but no go. Ideally I would like to use F22f.

    Have a good weekend!

Hi stasio and thanks for the suggestion but that does not work.

I was skeptical why 74 would work on all bioses before version F7k - but not on any version after. 6A or earlier DOES NOT work on any bios past F7K as per your suggestion - I have tried F7r and up. Looks like Gigabyte put a hard lock other then microcode in there.
    I've used latest UBU 1.69.5

Is this the end of the line or are there any later bioses past F7k?

    Thanks,
    Wojtek

Question Re: GIGABYTE Latest Beta BIOS

    Hello,
I have small problem with my motherboard. I have GIGABYTE Z68AP-D3 rev.1 and I've flashed your Ua9-mod uefi bios from this post GIGABYTE Latest Beta BIOS and I'm using Windows 10 x64 on GPT-UEFI. I have 2x 4GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAM in DualChannel but it works as 1333Mhz. I cannot change this in bios, this option is disabled and set to 1333. I found in forum that I need to enable XMP but I cant find anywhere the XMP option. What should I do to enable 1600Mhz? Should I flash other bios? Which one?

    Screens from bios:

I have a beta bios for x299 aurous gaming 7 motherboard from gigabyte support untouched F8e, thought I would share it for a few days so you can download and add it to the list. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqlJY73bUA7rha5-xP8Zoy_F5mDmSQ. Not sure whats changed but my support ticket was for a more stable bios for overclocking as my motherboard would reset on curtain stability test applications. Ive flashed bios but yet to test if its more stable. |Forgot to mention ...I meant on default settings.

As far as I'm aware the 'Gaming' series Z170-X boards were best using the earier drivers.
I have the Gaming 3 and have always gone back to F6 and to be honest I won't ever be changing.
22F is available, but I doubt it offers anything I need, so it's not getting installed.

It just works, I have had a stable 4.5Ghz OC on a i7 6700K for over 6 months of daily use without issue. Can you really expect more from a BIOS?

Newer is not better. These intel 'vulnerabilities' are really not a worry for the average guy playing games in his home. Don't get too worried about that. Most of us are really not that exciting that hackers are expending resources to find pics of our ex girlfriends.....
If I was you, I would find out the most stable release for your board and stick with it - there's a guide on how to downgrade your BIOS as the newer ones stopped downgrading.

    Good luck.
